Jada Morris's Theme Song- Medicine by Queen Naija

(Jada's POV)

Camilla Cortés

That name swung in front of me, shining in gold. My eyes wandered down to her neck, where my gift hung. Something that I have spent my year earnings on just so I could customize it to her liking. That wasn't enough. That smile was directed at someone that wasn't me. Those hazel eyes were brightened at the sight of that other girl. My heart sank at the feeling that she wasn't looking at me.

My heartbeat rose as she came closer, but I could only turn away when she walked by. Hanging low, I gripped the hem of my shirt tightly. She didn't even say a word to me when her focus was just on her.

I still wondered why she was still keeping that promise to me. She knows that I was waiting for her everyday, but then there would always be a new girl in her arms. That promise will always linger in the back of my head whenever we were together. No matter how much I try to bring myself out of it, I can't help but continue to fall for Camilla Cortés. She was my first crush and my first friend.

When I moved into this town, I was practically alone. My parents were divorced, but neither one of them could take care of me. Instead, I was sent to live with my uncle, but he was working almost all day. We were close when I was younger, but lately he is too busy to even spend time with me.
Due to that, I moved myself into the college dorms and find some friends myself in college. Unfortunately for me, it was harder than I thought. When I was younger, I had horrible anxiety to the point where I couldn't let out a single word without tearing up. It took so many years of building confidence and therapy, but it led to me growing cold and snap back at many people.

When Camilla and I met, I had already grown the reputation as ECU's ice queen. I was cold to the touch, and when I spoke to others, I would practically make them grow chills around me. Camilla wasn't effected by the way that I spoke to her. All she did was smile at me, and try to get me to warm up to her.

To this day, she and I have been inseparable. She was my best friend and vise versa. The only problem is when I grew feelings for this woman. It was an easy choice to ask this woman out because she was open minded to almost anything, but..

Camilla is a slut.

It was no secret to ECU that Camilla would sleep with almost every girl in the school. They would easily fall for her affection, no matter how bad her reputation was. I didn't want to be with someone that would have me for one night then leave me in the dust the next day. I wasn't that kind of person.

"Oh, Jada." Camilla's voice brought me out of my thoughts. Slowly looking over my shoulders, I saw that she and her new toy was facing my way. My eyes traveled to the girl in her arms. She was undeniably pretty, and I could only bite my lip. "Do you think we could reschedule tonight's plans? I'm going to be busy."

That damn smirk on her face made my blood boil, but I couldn't help but feel weak at the sight of it. "Of course." I gave her a weak nod before she let out a chuckle, ruffling my hair.
"See? I told you that she would understand, baby." Camilla laughed as she took the girl down the hallway with her arms wrapped around her shoulder.

When they were out of sight, I let out a shaky breath, and my hand came up to my heart. I clutched my shirt as I tried to keep my composure, but it was growing harder everyday. Everyday, there would just be another girl. Everyday.
