A million questions came to my mind but my mouth wasn't responding . I was at shock. Seriously? Of all the things I could do for detention, she just had to choose this? Firewood? I mean look at me. Maybe my body frame does not approve but everything about me screams feminine, female, and fragile! This is stupidity.
No way in hell am I doing this.
" When do I start?"
Coward ...
It comes naturally. I smiled and shook my head at my performance . I'm such a coward. "Uh.... now?" I notice he's nervous. "Is that a question?" I arched an eyedbrow, taking advantage of his nervousness." Right", with that he opened the gate and reached out for a hand shake. "Keith." I took a step forward and gasped inwardly. Keith? As in the liaison officer- Keith? Damn! He totally trashed my imagination of a liaison officer; old, mean and grumpy. Maybe with a cane. He was handsome. His hair, a brownish gold, neatly trimmed to an army cut. His eyes a familiar bright green. Where did I last see them? I couldn't remember. His full lips were on a crooked line. Smirking?
Oh shit!
He knew I was admiring his features. Desperate for an escape, "Gunlit's very own liaison officer", I quoted Mrs. Ebony.
Cheesy
He shook my hand and laughed,"where'd you hear that, Miss...." He stopped abruptly. I chuckled, "Brandy. Just Brandy." With that ,he winced, "that's too strong for you, kitten," his voice dropped with humor. I held my head back and burst out laughing. I sigh.I want to serve detention everyday.
Thank you, Mrs. Ebony

With Keith leading the way ahead of me, I turned back to where I was a few moments ago. There it was. Gunlit Academy. Known to be the best source of education in the country. It is located in the woodlands of Genoue where it is completely isolated from the world. Once you reach the school gate, you should expect to have no contact with the outside world. History has it that it used to be a temple for monks who meditated daily. Monks who craved isolation. No wonder the building looked more like a fortress. It was huge. It kind of resembles a castle. One from the medieval days, that is. Gunlit Academy has a massive land mass, with thick forest surrounding. The forest stands as a fence around the school compound. It looks as though one could get lost in the forest so, I assume there is no escape. A river ran along the school compound. This is used mostly for recreation.Swimming, kayaking and more. It was beauty incarnate. Natural. Untouched. I stopped and inhaled the freshness of it all.So lost in my senses, I didn't realize Keith standing behind me." Beautiful isn't it?" I turned and met his gaze. He looked at me intensely.
"Very."
Awkward
He offered a smile as his hands found their way up his head. Scratch. I'm not sure if it's a habit or what, but it's cute. He should definitely keep it up. Wait, what am I doing? His the school's freaking liaison officer.
Okay. Back to student mode.
I smiled a school girl's smile. " Made especially for Gunlit, huh?" I tried changing the subject. "Oh...yeah...that." His hands seem to be moving rapidly on his head. He gave me his back and then proceeded walking.
What the hell?
