Silence. Awkward silence.

A couple of silent minutes later, we found ourselves standing at the doorstep of a huge.....what seems to look like a cottage. A huge cottage?

Ding! Dong!

The door bell sounded exactly like the school bell. Keith pressed it again.

Ding! Dong!

One second

Two second

Three sec-

The door bolted open with a strong force. I jerked back at the sudden movement. Not to mention, the thunderous sound of it slamming against the inside wall of the house. I stepped backward out of fear. POne foot slipped down from where I was and -

" You okay?" A firm hand was suddenly on my back, tilting me forward. Keith. My eyes were shut but I could tell it was him. His bare hand held my back while I managed to stabilize myself on firm ground. He turned his attention back to the door,"Damn it, Jayce! Could you be any gentle?" his jaw twitched.

There is a guy leaning on the door frame with one foot over the other. Jayce, I believe his name to be. He's not as masculine as Keith, but his body held a solid frame. He had a boyish appearance, but a great amount of maturity as well. He has the same style of hair as Keith, only his is black. He was wearing the school uniform. So, I assume he's a student.

Once I stood my ground I smiled at him hoping to get a respond.

Nothing. No smile. No wave. No greeting.

Nothing.

It was as if the boy was oblivious to my 'friendly gensture'.

Instead, his dark eyebrows furrowed. "Who's she?" His eyes locked on my own icy blue. He looked deep in thought. I searched his face but it was hopeless. I couldn't tell what he was thinking. Let alone, his expression.

Hello to you too, Sir Expressionless.

I mustered up what little courage I have and answered, "I'm Brandy." His eyes left my eyes and made their way down my body. He looks like he's sizing me up," What's she doing here?"

It was then that I realized he wasn't talking to me. The questions were for Keith.

Ouch!
