RAYAN

Rayan paced from one place to another cleaning the dishes. The others had far long gone to sleep and Rayan had been happy to discover doing the cleaning was absolutely his thing.

His mother would have rather died than to see him cleaning anything of any kind not to talk of getting his hand wet.

For the first time in his life what he was feeling was different.

Every plate his washed gave him the feeling of usefulness. At least he was on his own now, no mother, no father, no annoying sister and no Justin Bieber. Just him,

alone.

After the truth or dare they had all gotten drank. well, except frank who did not drink. To him the game was a stupid idea.

Especially when Veronika had dropped that G bumped on Frank. It was like a thunder clap.

Clearly no one was looking forward to such a question. Frank himself looked like he had been struck by lightning.

So far it had been a very long night for Rayan. Everyone had far long gone to sleep.

Alison was totally really tanked-up so was Veronika, zander and Tylor.

Tylor had felt pretty stupid for asking Alison such question. Everything had gone wrong, wrong timing, wrong crowd and wrong mood.

Tylor had woken up and went down to get some water just when Rayan had started his cleaning. He did not know why but she apologized.

Rayan first guess was that she was sleep talking but then she asked if Alison hated her. The only thing Rayan said was.

"I don't know. Maybe you should ask her yourself."

Tylor nodded, than went back to her room.

Then few minutes later Veronika came to the kitchen, than took a sit.

She looked drunk or just very tired and pale. Rayan handed her a glass of water but she did not drink it, she only kept rotating the glass. Rayan quickly started feeling concerned.

"Are you okay?"

There fell a long silence between them until she cleared her throat.

"Nah. He is dreaming of his father again, nightmares." Veronika said.

Rayan blinked, shocked.

"How long has that been happening?"

"One month now." she added. "When he wakes up he says things like: I am only going to hurt you, just like how my dad did to my mom."

"It's really making me pissed off."
Rayan walked over than sat on the chair across the dining table in front of Veronika.

They both locked eyes for a minute.

"I think you should talk to Franko." Rayan required.

"I will. I don't really want to talk about it anymore."

"So... kiddo are you okay? As in okay? Okay?" Rayan asked, sounding worried.

"Are you asking me if I am running mad?" Veronika smiled.

Rayan laughed, kind of nervously.

"I am sorry. I did not mean to pry"

"It's no big deal... I am okay."

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Veronika asked.

"I was doing the cleaning" Rayan said, proudly.

"Good for you. How do you feel? You finally washed your first set of plates" she teased him.

"I feel like a woman" Rayan smiled.

Veronika chuckled, pointing at him with clear amusement.

"Rayan Dolin. What do you do when you're not dancing with the president's daughter or when you're not eyeing the prince of England?" Veronika asked, laughing at him.

This was the first time anyone had ever asked him about his life. Or anything, he was mostly the one telling the story. Deep down it flattered him.

"I go to school." Rayan said.

"ugh. Not what I was expecting." she sighed.

"Sorry... if I have disappointed you."

Veronika checked the time on her watch and it read, 3:00 am.

"It's quite late, you should get some sleep." Rayan said.

Veronika stood then walked to the siting room and Rayan followed her from behind.

He could not help but notice the slight awkwardness in her steps, which only met she was still intoxicated.

He wondered if in the morning she would remember what they had talked about.

"Yes... daddy." she replied.

She crashed on the grey couch with a leap. Rayan got her a white cotton long blanket, he covered her from head to toe, then switched of the light.

He was about to go back into the kitchen when she called out.

"Rayan?"

He turned around facing her on the couch.

"What is it?" he asked, in a low soft voice.

"Would you lay with me, until I fall asleep?" Veronika whispered back.
She made space for him to lay beside her. He laid down softly at the edge of the chair.

"Frank can sleep alone for all I care. When he wakes up he can talk to the pillows." she said, miserably.

Rayan felt her sob quietly. He understood just fine. It was hard for everybody when it came to relationships.
