A WEEK LATER

Beyoncé and Nicki were in a meeting with Nicki's being sat off towards the side of the room like usual. She wasn't feeling the best today but Beyoncé was making it more unbearable by constantly asking her what's wrong through text.

TEXT MESSAGE

B: baby please tell me what's wrong😔 I want to make you happy

N: it's fine just concentrate on your meeting I will tell you when I'm ready

B: it's not fine when I know you're upset. We could take today off if you need it. Please just tell me.

N: Beyoncé focus on your meeting.

END

And just like that they never texted for the rest of the meeting. Nicki was internally shaking her head wondering why she had to know so desperately now. If they were together she has all the time in the world to tell her.

When the meeting ended everybody got up except Beyoncé, meaning nicki couldn't go anywhere either. When everybody left the room they sat there in a silence for a few seconds before Nicki spoke.

N: are we going?

B: why have you been so distant with me?

She asked completely ignoring Nicki's initial question.

N: what do you mean?

B: I just feel like since last week you haven't been as close to me as you usually are.

N: is this because I told you to concentrate on your meeting?

B: no. You need to tell me how you're feeling about us.

Nicki sighed and put her face in her hand.

N: Beyoncé please I'm not feeling the best today so can we not

B: I tried to see what was wrong but you pushed me away again so I guess both of us aren't feeling the best. The best thing we can do now is talk about it. I don't want us to have a bad relationship.

Nicki sighed and dreaded saying how she's been feeling. She knew it would hurt bey whether she showed it or not but she can't keep playing somebody she's not to make someone else happy.

Nicki stood up and leaned back on the table next to Beyoncé so she was looking down at her.

N: I just feel like... we're moving too fast

Beyoncé took a slight pause but nodded to show she was listening.

N: I don't want to upset you because I know how much I mean to you and I would never take advantage of that. But at the same time, I just need time to get used to our situation. I still don't have any memories of us from before the accident so i feel like I'm really starting from scratch in this relationship and it feels like we are at a stage that I'm not ready for yet.

Nicki watched as Beyoncé's face slowly turned into a somber expression as she talked. When she finished Beyoncé looked down and sighed.

B: I understand. I'm sorry I made you feel that way. I keep forgetting we are basically starting over again. Umm... yeah... we can slow down if you want.

She said looking down into her lap. Nicki moves her chin so she was looking at her and gave her a kiss on the lips that lasted for a few seconds.

N: I know you're sad and I understand where you're coming from. I just need time

Beyoncé nodded with a little smile.

B: I know you can take as long as you need. But I'll always be here for you alright?
