Chapter 8

- Meliodas's Pov -

"Elizabeth?" She hasn't said a single word for a solid 5 minutes. Now I know how she felt "Elizabeth please say something"
"Forever?" She whispered.
"Yes, I love you more than anything in the entire world"
"Us? Forever?" I think she might be in shock.
"Elizabeth, if you need more time to think, then by all means -" I was cut off when a soft pair of lips connected with mine.
"Yes, Sir Meliodas, I will be yours forever" I melted back into the kiss "I will marry you" My smile has never been bigger
"Besides, After last night, it's safe to say that you were already mine" I ran my hand through her hair "Once your sister's weddings are done, we will go ring shopping and make it official" My heart was racing, Am surprised it was still in my chest. My god, I love this woman "Oh I wish we could finish this moment but we need to get up, Bans turned up and I think Arthur's here"

We both made ourselves presentable and made our way to the kitchen.
"It's Arthur!!!!!" I heard shouting.
"Hmmm looks like Ban's causing trouble" I let go of Elizabeth's hand and we walked into the kitchen. I hated hiding us but it was Elizabeth's call on when we told people. I saw Arthur but no Ban "where did Ban go?"
"He's only just left. said something about going to see his thieves guild" Arthur closed his book "He left everyone breakfast though"
"Hmm wonder why?" Strange. I crossed my arms and tilted my head. Elizabeth took a roll and picked at it.
"He seemed a bit off. He asked about my past. I only knew my mother's name" Oooh so that's why he's run off. Ban doesn't like it when kids don't know their parents.
"What's your mother's name then," Elizabeth asked sweetly.
"Hawk said it was Igraine" Yep Ban's doing some detective work.
"Igraine. That's the same name as Uther's Wife" Elizabeth clicked her fingers.
"Probably. She hasn't had any more kids since Lancelot was born"I shrugged. I'm gonna wait for Ban. He'll find out.

8 hours had passed and all the Sins and the Commandments had finally woken up. Elizabeth's sister was remaining at the Boar Hat. The 3 goonies were too. They wanted to listen out for rumours and possible leads. We were all talking about how to beat the Pendragons. We gathered in the front room.
"Brother Meliodas. I suggest we take the fight to them" Oh god, Zeldris had that smirk.
"But they would be excepting us. We need someone they have never seen"
"Sir Meliodas. What about the Pleiades Of The Azure Sky?" Elizabeth asked. Gowther's head shot up.
"Gowther, do you think you can get hold of Slader?" Grayroad asked in his annoying chipmunk voice.
"I.. suppose... I... could..." Gowther stuttered and blushed. He is a man that has NO emotions and yet, the name 'Slader' made him giddy as a schoolgirl.
"I have never seen him move so fast to owl's room" We all giggled.
"I refuse to let him live that down," Ban said as he raised a beer to his lips.
"Aww I think it's sweet" Elizabeth smiled "Anyway, would you guys like to come to my sister's wedding on Saturday?" Several people moaned. A few grumbles. I was about to say something when I felt Elizabeth's hand on my shoulder "It's an open bar"

And like the alcoholics they are. Everyone was soon agreeing to go.
"Bunch of Alcoholics, The lot of ya" I shock my head. Still, I love weddings.

Saturday soon came around. I really don't think I've seen so many flowers in my life. Everywhere I looked. I looked at the clock. Crap. It starts in an hour, I better go get ready. Half an hour later, am dressed.
"Brother, you in there?" I heard through the door.
"Zeldris?" I opened the door to find wrapped in a black cloak. His suit in his hand. He walked in "what's wrong?"
"I messed up" He looked panicked.
"What happened?" Big brother mode activated.
"My shirt was dirty, so I thought I would wash it and dry it. But I did it wrong" He took the cloak off "Brother, I shrunk my ONLY shirt" His shirt looked as if Estarossa was trying it on. I fell to the floor laughing. "It's not funny!" Zeldris stamped his foot "Help me" He pleaded.
"Okay Okay," I finished laughing. After I helped him out of his shirt. I went over to my closet and pulled out a white shirt. I tossed it to him "Here. You are quite lucky we're the same size" He put it on "Say since when did you care about looking smart for fancy weddings?" I cocked my eyebrow.
"It's a wedding, I don't wanna look awful" I folded my arms. Bad liar.
"You are the world's worst fibber. Now, who or what is the real reason?" He blushed at me.
".... Gelda.. is .. gonna be there.. as my plus one" Zeldris was redder than a beetroot.
"So she's your date? I didn't know you were sweet on her?"
"yep, we've been dating for a year now. I would off told you but you weren't here and I forgot too." Zeldris had a half-grin on his face "I'm planning on asking for her hand at some point" He smiled like a cat on catnip.
"Awwww my little brother is growing up. Well, I hope she says yes and that you are happy" I hugged him and patted his back.
"And I hope you are happy with Lady Elizabeth" My poker face was back on.
"What you on about?"
"Don't 'poker face' me, I know about you two" Zeldris walked to the mirror to do his tie "I saw you sneak out of her room this morning" Damn it, I was sure no one saw, My poker face broke into a smile at the thought of Elizabeth next to me in the bed. Zeldris saw the smile. Crap "I knew it. You got caught doing the walk of shame" He was failing at doing his tie.
"It's only called the walk of shame if you regret it the morning"
"And I take it you don't" He threw his tie on the floor "I can't do this stupid thing"
"Give it here" I took it and within 5 minutes I had it sorted. I placed it on Zeldris and began to fix him up "And no, I don't regret it. Me and Elizabeth, we've been in love with each other and it was only within the last two weeks we both admitted how we felt" I wanted to scream to the world that I loved Elizabeth but we wasn't gonna tell anyone just yet. I wanted to find a ring first. I finished sorting Zeldris out "There, all done"
"Thanks" He put his jacket on "Ya know, part of me wants to tell Diane about you and your pride stride"
"Are you stupid, she'll kill me" My eyes went wide. Diane scares me.
"I say part of me, geeze lighten up" He laughed "Anyway brother, We need to go collect our dates" And with that we both left the room.

The wedding itself was short but beautiful. There wasn't a dry eye in the house once the vows were said. It was really something special. Baltra would have been proud. It was gonna be one hell of a night, there was good food, good booze and there was dancing.

We all sat down to hear the speeches when suddenly there were explosions everywhere. Zeldris and I both shouted for our teammates to stand ready. Galand and Estarossa stood by Zeldris. Diane and Escanor by mine. We couldn't see much as there was too much smoke. I hope Elizabeth is safe. I saw her with Arthur. I looked around to see 3 spears coming at me, At the last second, I was pushed out of the way. I hit the ground, winding myself. Who did that? I looked up to see Diane on the floor, She was wounded. A spear was in her right shoulder, her hip and her thigh.
"DIANE!!!!!!!" I screamed, This caught the attention of King who ran to shield her from people who had swords. Man, he was pissed. He scared me a little. He and Escanor carried her inside. I saw Merlin, Melascula and Gloxinia tending the wounded. There were many. I let my rage loose.

The battle was over pretty quickly once me and Escanor re-joined the battle. I didn't even have to look to see the crest belonged to the Pendragons.
"Okay roll call!!" Called Zeldris.
"Merlin"
"Escanor"
"Monspeet"
"Deriei"
"Gowther"
"Estarossa"
"Galand"
"Fraudrin"
"Melascula"
"Drole"
"Gloxinia"
"Grayroad"
"Meliodas"
"Where's King? Ban?" I asked.
"King is with Diane, and Ban took his family home." Melascula spoke "The brides, grooms and the weird one are inside. So is Gelda" Two names ain't been called.
"And what of Lady Elizabeth and Arthur?" Zeldris said as he looked at me.
"I saw Arthur grab Ellie and run," Merlin said as she leaned on Escanor "Maybe they went to the Boar Hat"
"Maybe" I whispered. I hope they are safe. I was a little worried. "Alright, clean up time"

After a few hours, The house and garden were once again spotless. I finished my job so I decided to visit Diane. She did pretty much save my ass. I walked to her and King's room and found Diane pretty much out of it and King sat in a chair next to her, holding her hand. He was crying. I patted his shoulder.
"Stupid question but how's she doing?"
"Doctor said she's gonna be fine. He's given her some milk of the poppy for the pain" He wiped his eyes "She just needs rest"
"Good" I nodded as I patted King's shoulder. I heard a knock and saw Little Gil at the door.
"Sir Meliodas. Your brother Zeldris? Says he needs you on your ship, he said it was important" Little Gil appeared at the door. I got up and left.

A Minute or so later, I arrived at my ship. Zeldris had his back to me "Yo Zeldris, What's the problem?" He had something in his hands. "Brother? are  you ok?" I felt sick.
"Meliodas, Lady Elizabeth and Arthur are not with Hawk" He turned his head towards me.
"How do you know?" now am worried.
"I found these" he turned his body towards me. It was Arthur's cloak and Elizabeth's earring. They were covered in blood.
"Pendragons" I hissed
"Pendragons" Zeldris nodded in agreement.
"Why take Arthur?" I was so angry and confused.
"Because Arthur is the stillborn child of Igraine and Uther" we snapped our heads around to find Ban on the docks "They thought he was stillborn, so they dumped him in the forest outside  Camelot. The ginge doesn't have a clue" Ban put his hands in his pocket.
"Right" I turned back to Zeldris "Gather your team, Ban gather ours and meet in the front room" They both nodded "The Pendragons wanted a war, Well, they got a war"
