Chapter 14

- Ban's Pov -

"Yo, Elizabeth? Quick question for ya" I poked her on the shoulder.
"Yes Sir Ban" She spun to face me. "How can I help you?"
"Is it alright if I kip here tonight?"
"Of course. You can sleep in Sir Meliodas's room" How is she a mafia boss? She's so nice to everyone. "I'll show you where it is"
"Thanks but I already know where it is" I stopped her before she walked off.
"Sir Ban, Why did you ask to stay?" She tilted her head.
"Well, I didn't want to wake the twins up when I got through the door" I put my hands in my pocket.
"Have you decided what cake or cakes you're making yet?" She placed her hands in front of her.
"Yeah. Am thinking of a big blue and pink cake with black mice and white beading and white spots. Maybe a white rose. Then I was gonna make 2 little cakes, one pink and one blue. Same decorations as the big ones" I love baking cakes "Maybe some little rainbow cupcakes"
"Am sure whatever you make it will yummy" Elizabeth placed her hand on my arm "Well goodnight Sir Ban" I watched her walk away. How did the Captain get her?

I tossed and turned for 3 hours. I couldn't sleep. I was way too excited about the party. I wanted to see the twin's faces when they saw the cakes and presents.
"I give up" I sat straight up "I will admit though, the captain's bed is really comfy" I decided to go downstairs. As I walked towards the front room, I notice that the fire was still burning and that there was a shadow among the flames.
"Why you awake Ban?" Oh goody. The captains up. It's time for a good old gossip session.
"How did you know it was me?"
"Heard you coming down the stairs" Captain wasn't even looking my way.
"I swear you have bat ears" I flopped on the sofa "Am up because am way too excited for the party. Why are you up?"
"Since Arthur told us about Denzal. I haven't slept properly. I'm worried about Elizabeth and now she's pregnant, Am even more worried" His voice cracked.
"Listen, Let's get this weekend out of the way. Then on Monday, We will go hunting"
"He's still out there though" Captain started pacing.
"My thieves say that he's not in Liones, Edinburgh or Camelot. He may be stupid but he ain't that stupid to start on us. Besides, that Slader dude is coming tomorrow. He's the best tracker in the country"
"Bet Gowther is excited" Captain smirked and finally sat down.
"He may have an emotional range of spanner but I know he is" I placed my arms behind my head "Plus I heard him tell Merlin. I have to be honest. I didn't think Slader swung that way"
"Oh, he does. According to Escanor. Gowther and Slader have been having  'fun' for a while now"
"Speaking of whose having fun. I hear Arthur and Gwen? have been spending more time together"
"Who told you that?" Captain's eyes went wide.
"Lancelot... They've been seen taking walks around the garden"
"Has Lancelot or Arthur been told that  the latter is a Pendragon?"
"I don't dare. I have the folder sitting in the study's vault. It could send both over the edge" I feel like a big brother.
"Ya never know. They could handle it"
"I think Lancelot would but I don't know about Arthur"
"I know. Ask Hawk. He knows him better than anyone"
"Hmm, I guess I could, Meh I can't be bothered. I'll do it next week"

Me and the Captain hit the hay not long after our gossip session. I woke to find Elaine and the twins jumping on the bed.
"DA DA!!" The twins giggled. Best wake-up call ever.
"Hello, my babies" I gave both of them a bear hug. "Oh and happy birthday" I smothered them both with kisses. I heard Elaine giggle. "Hello wifey"
"Hello darling" I kissed her on the lips.
"Not that am complaining... But why are you here?" I rubbed my eyes " I thought you were coming over later"
"Well I came to tell you something and I want you to promise me you won't yell" She held out her pinky.
"I pinky promise" I shook her pinky "Now what happened"
"Diane and my brother may have left this morning and got married". I fainted.

- Meliodas's Pov -

I heard a massive crash from my old room. I guess Elaine told Ban the news. I guess am bummed out too. I love a good wedding, but I knew that Diane and King hate being the centre of attention. I'm happy for them. Still would be a shame to waste a good wedding. I made my way to the study. Both her sisters and the 3 goonies were there.
"Sir Meliodas!" Elizabeth stood up and hugged me. I smelt her hair. It smelt like apples.
"Have you told them yet" I whispered Elizabeth nodded.
"Yes. literally, 30 seconds before you walked in" I gulped and turned around. To my surprise, no one wanted to kill me. They were all smiling.
"Okay, why is no one yelling or trying to kill me?" I was really confused.
"Because Ellie is happy," Margaret said calmly "As long as she is happy, we are too"
"But break her heart and we will tell Diane" Veronica grunted. My hand instantly went to my throat.
"Hey guys, I need to talk to Ellie please... alone" Everyone left and I faced Ellie.
"What's wrong Sir Meliodas" Her blue eyes stared at me.
"Don't worry it's not bad news. So two things. 1 please stop calling me Sir. We don't need to be so formal. And second of all. Diane and King got married this morning"
"They got married!!!!! OH MY GOD that's fantastic"
"Well I thought, it would be a shame to waste the day. I was thinking..." I wrapped my hands around her waist "I was thinking why don't we use the day?" The reaction I got was definitely worth it. Ellie threw her arms around me.
"EEK!!! Yes!!! Am so excited" Ellie had the biggest grin ever.
"So am I, so am I" My heart was beating like crazy. Nothing could put a downer on my mood.

The entire afternoon was crazy. We had party games. Treasure hunts. We dressed up and had a tea party. The cakes looked perfect (I heard Ban yelling at the kitchen staff not to touch his masterpiece). Despite the insane amount of sugar, the twins were so well-behaved (Considering who their father is). I watched as Ban went from thief master to doting dad. I walked over to where my brothers were standing on the hill overlooking the party.
"Ah brother, Care for an ale?" Estarossa held out a beer for me.
"I could never say no to Vanya Ale" I took a swig "Hey Zeldris, where the Mrs?"
"Gone home. She's telling her father that she's leaving the family home to be with me" Zeldris shrugged but smiled as well.
"You mean to tell me? You have asked her?" my mouth dropped slightly.
"I asked her to move in with me. And yes, I've spoken to Lady Elizabeth and she's allowing us to live here" He was beaming "I've also spoken to father... He's agreed that till Denzal is either dead or in our custody. The Commandments are to remain in Liones"
"Do you guys really wanna return?" I titled my head.
"Not really. But if we don't go back who will run the place when dad dies" Zeldris shook his head.
"Why don't we give Edinburgh back to King Leon once dad kicks the bucket" Estarossa suggested.
"But if and when Leon dies, His waste of space son takes over" I swigged more beer.
"Whose his son again" Estarossa crossed his arms.
"Denzal" Zeldris and I answered at the same time. Estarossa spat hes drink out.
"Ah, crap. We could always ask cousin Zohan?"
"Isn't he a wimp?" Zeldris asked.
"No that's cousin Sawyer" I wagged my finger.
"I know, cousin Deldry. Uncle Anderson's daughter" Zeldris clicked his fingers.
"Wasn't she in The Pleiades Of The Azure Sky?"
"Yeah. That's how she met her husband, Ardin I think his name is" Estarossa said while swigging his beer.
"Oh, she would be perfect. She pretty much runs the place anyway"
"Why did The Pleiades Of The Azure Sky split?" I crossed my arms.
"Conflict of interests" Zeldris stated. We all nodded.
"Right, Thanks for the beer. Am off to rejoin the party"

I really enjoyed this afternoon. I loved watching Elizabeth's face light up around the twins. I can't wait for our baby to be born. She's going to make a wonderful mother. I crawled into bed. Absolutely knackered. Elizabeth joined me, her head laying on my chest. I wrapped one arm around her while the other was behind my head.
"How are my babies doing?"
"Well little baby is snoozing and big baby is having a cuddle?"
"I'd happily hugged you both all day" I would. No questions asked. "I really enjoyed today"
"Really, I didn't think children's birthday parties were your thing" Elizabeth looked up at me.
"Wanna know a secret?" Elizabeth nodded "I love birthday parties. Especially childrens. The thought of not being a grown-up sounds ideal"
"You're really a big kid sometimes"
"The best way to be" We lay there for a while. I thought Elizabeth was asleep till she spoke.
"Meliodas?"
"Hmm?" I hummed.
"Did you tell everyone we are getting married on Sunday?"
"Bollocks!" I shot straight out of bed.

I ran to Ban's room. (He was stopping again). If anyone could spread the news quickly it was him. I banged on his door.
"What?!" Ban groaned.
"Ban, wanna spread some gossip?" The door flew open.
"Step into my office" He smirked "What's the gossip?"
"Am getting married on Sunday" I sat on my old bed. He raised both his eyebrows.
"Really?.. Wow that's great"
"Yeah, It is. Me and Elizabeth decided to put what would have been King and Diane's wedding to good use"
"Who's gonna be your best man?" Ban narrowed his eyes at me "And don't say Zeldris"
"Actually, Am getting him to walk Elizabeth down the aisle. I was thinking of asking King -..." Am really trying to keep my poker face on.
"THAT JUMPED UP LITTLE HALF-PINT!!" Ban was angry.
"Okay, chill out dingus. I was gonna ask you anyway"
"I hate you sometimes. And of course, I accept" We shook arms "Now please, piss off. I need to sleep" Ban threw me out of his room. I laughed as I walked back to my bed.
