January 1999,
Hogwarts Rebuilding Phase 2,
Harry went back to Grimmauld's Place Number 12 after a long exhausting day at the Auror's station. He plopped himself on the bed that used to be Sirius'. Ginny was lying beside him. The house was now given to him. He had just got his first job as an Auror while Ginny got herself a spot as a seeker for Holyhead Harpies. That day had been too exhausting for the two. Not to mention, Harry had to do every paperwork regarding the death eaters for the starters of his job.
Harry had also redecorated the noble house of black by the beginning of the year. with the help of Ginny, Hermione and Ron, he removed the painting of Walburga Black and the rest of the Racist members of the Black family line. On the other hand, the four agreed to keep a painting of the members of the Order of The Phoenix which was taken before the war. A photo of Dumbledore's Army members. Harry also hung a painting of Sirius Black, his Godfather, on the wall. They also redecorated the house with the paintings of the fallen heroes that fought with them at the battle of Hogwarts the year before.
If you're wondering why Ginny shared the house with Harry, it wasn't all like what you imagined. Harry shared the house with Ron, Hermione and Ginny at the moment. He said it was better for him to share it with his closest friends because he was really scared of losing them. Harry was still engulfed by the guilt of losing his loved ones.
"Harry," Ginny said, moving closer to Harry's chest.
"Yes, Gin," Harry said while hugging her closer to his chest.
"How's your day?" She asked, tracing her finger on his toned chest and abs. Trailing from one bruise to another.
"Not really good. Paperworks are killing me," Harry chuckled as he put his arms around the younger lady's waist. "How's yours?" He asked.
"They said I'll be the reserve seeker first. However, they let me practice with the whole team. You got to teach me to do that 50 feet dive you did back then. I wanna beat that snob of a senior Mathilda Bradley, she's such a show-off," Ginny said followed by a light chuckle from Harry.
"So, how's the update on the school?" Harry asked.
"We're waiting for you for the walk of memories corridor. Mum and Professor McGonagall were picking out the pictures of the fallen heroes," Ginny said as she slowly drifted asleep listening to Harry's heartbeat.
On the other hand, Harry stayed awake upon Ginny's last comment. A pang of guilt ran through his veins. He partly caused their deaths. Harry closed his green mesmerising eyes and forced himself to sleep. He only hoped that those haunting screeches and voices didn't linger in his ears as soon as he drifted asleep.
It was back again, he saw himself fighting Voldemort, running around the castle.
someone had shouted an explosive charm and it blasted right to Fred.
'Fred!! No!!' He could hear a voice screaming from the other side of the castle. It was Percy's voice crying out Fred's name after the huge explosion boomed in front of the room of requirements.
then Harry saw Ginny running to him, showing the lifeless Fred lying on the stretcher after the war. Ron came to him afterwards, crying his heart out, then George ran to him and cried to him. He was like a brother to everyone and a lover to Ginny.
He killed Fred. The cries of Molly, Arthur, Percy, Bill, Charlie, George, Ron and Ginny lingered in his ears.
He shot awake, his bare chest was covered with cold sweats. His heavy breathing had wakened Ginny up. She looked at him with concerns drawn all over her eyes.
"Harry, what happened?" She asked.
"Ginny, I'm sorry," He said as he hugged the girl sitting beside her.
"Harry, It's never your fault. I'm here," She said, as she wiped away Harry's tears. "Was it Percy's screams that wake you up?"
Harry looked down onto his lap and nodded.
"It's okay, Harry. Look at me," She gently cupped Harry's face and looked right into her eyes.
"Gin, why didn't you hate me?" Harry asked as he looked into Ginny's eyes. His eyes were filled by agony.
"What for, Harry. Fred didn't die because of you. He died protecting the school. He died a heroic death. And I'll tell my kids about that. Their Uncle Fred's a hero," Ginny said as she leaned to kiss Harry in the lips. "And you, young man, you have always been my hero since that day you destroyed Riddle's Diary."
Harry hugged his girlfriend and kissed her forehead. "Never leave me, Gin," He whispered.
"Never in a million years," Ginny said gently as she pressed her ear against Harry's toned chest. Thanks to Quidditch it had built Harry's skinny and underweighted posture into the toned and well-built body like what he had that day. She drifted back asleep as soon as Harry's heartbeat started to go back into its normal pace.
