Real Life"Why didn't you call?" Lola asked, gripping her mug of coffee tightly as she glanced quickly at her mother she hadn't seen in months.
After sitting for hours in her bedroom, just staring at her ceiling, she decided to visit her mother. Despite it being almost three a.m. in California, Lola had questions that needed to be answered.
Aria Danger-now Orjeda after her divorce-sighed heavily as she set down her mug "I honestly don't know, mija. I've been hurting since the divorce and with everything else."
"But you're still a mother, who still has kids. Kids that wanted to see you, or at less hear your voice. Kids that were wondering if they're mother had completely abandoned. Kids that wanted their mother to meet the issue last love of their life. Kids that wanted their mother. Kids who needed their mother to just hold them when nothing else felt right in the world!" Lola's once powerful yell cracked slightly as she started to choke on her own heartbroken sobs.
"Oh mija." Aria whispered as she reached out for her eldest daughter.
Lola pushes her hand away "Don't. That's not why I came here anyway. I need a different kind of answers."
Aria opened her mouth and closed it as if she wanted to say something but decided against it. She instead sat down on the couch "Sure."
Lola sat on the couch, sitting far from her mother "I want to know about Abuelo."
"What about him?"
"He used to tell my stories about creatures that go bump in the night and how they're wore powerful beings that protected us from them. He used to say that they were warriors with magical powers. Abuelo told me I could be a protector, a warrior."
Aria looked away from her, smiling as if she remembered something pleasant "You're powers finally cane in, huh?"
"So it's true."
"Yes, it is. You're a witch, Lola."
