I saw a singular pearl atop a spout of water at the top of a waterfall. When I opened my eyes I found myself at the bottom of Fern Falls. The spout of water disappeared, and as the pearl began to drop down the falls I reached out to catch it. It seemed to pause in suspended animation. It's form changed as my thoughts materialized before my eyes. In the next moment, it hung around my neck from the most delicate leather braid I had ever seen.
"Keep it." I jumped at the sound of his voice.
"It is a testament to your strength and power as a mystic. Come, lets run."
And run we did. We ran and ran. It was magical to just run free through the forest like that. There was no end or beginning to it all. It just was.
I started to pull ahead. I turned to look back, only to see him pull a broad sword out of the bush and charge at me, so I took off at a dead sprint in the opposite direction. I brushed the palm of my hand across the trunk of a paper birch tree, where I pulled a bo staff from the center. I turned and faced him head on.
His sword met the center of my staff, and I was able to push him back and sweep his legs out from under him. I went to strike with the top of the bo staff, but he was too fast and maneuvered behind me, putting the tip of sword to the back of my neck.
"You did well. Follow me. It is time to meet the pack."
