It was your first exorcism that Sam had let you do and you got it right. You placed down the book, sighing. Dean and Sam talked to the girl as she died, having been tortured while possessed. You hated watching deaths, which is why you came to the two hunters. Crowley had taken interest to you for a while, continually offering you deals and a place with him. No matter how much you refused, he wouldn't stop. He killed your family, trying to get you to turn. He failed miserably. It gave you more reason to refuse. It came to you needing protection and training, so you came to Dean and Sam.
After the poor girl died, Dean and Sam stood and silently shared a conversation.
Finally, they turned to you, a look of interest and worry etched in their eyes.
