Percy's POV
I was on my way to the beach; Annabeth and I had a date planned. As I arrived, I saw a girl and a guy making out in our spot. I smiled, happy for the couple, but the grin disappeared from my face when the couple parted for air and I saw the girl, who turned and stared me in the eyes, "We're over, Jackson".
"Annabeth..." was all I said, my eyes brimming with unshed tears. I turned and ran back to the cabin, where I cried for half an hour before the conch sounded for dinner. I wiped my eyes and puled on my brave face, the little ones didn't need to see me cry. After I sacrificed to all twelve Olympians, I ate the little food that was left on my plate. Piper walked up to me, "I hope you don't try to come near us ever again, after you cheated on Annabeth". I just shook my head, got to my feet and walked to my cabin, mentally preparing myself; I had to leave camp, the bad memories that would forever echo through this camp were too much to bear.
I packed everything I owned into a small backpack, leaving all photos and reminders of camp behind, except for a photo of Frank, Hazel and I, those two were at Camp Jupiter, and hopefully didn't hate me yet.
I concentrated my powers and re-appeared outside the front door of my mother's home. I knocked, and she opened the door. "Perseus Jackson", my mother had hissed, "You aren't my son and never will be, I don't want your stupid way of life infecting my daughter, never come near us again". I just nodded and vapour-travelled away, to the edge of the Grand Canyon. I closed my eyes and prepared to jump...
A hand grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me back, I turned, only to see a man with black hair and eyes that looked like the galaxy itself. "Hello Perseus", his voice sounded like silk, "Don't try to kill yourself, its such a pain, bringing soldiers back from the dead. I am Chaos, creator of all, and I would like you to become the leader of section 0". I just nodded, I needed a new start, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
