a/n: um so im soft for soft david so here we go

summary: a rare drunk david drunk calls you.

David Dobrik was the hardest feeling to shake. From his heartwarming smile, to his infectious laugh, you couldn't help but fall for him, but than again, who wouldn't? He had this mannerism that made your heart pound and soul melt. He was so easy to fall for. Every bit of him wanted to smile and laugh and make others do the same. His heart was pure. For you, your feelings were obvious. Around him, your whole body would flush, you'd sit on edge. Your feelings remained quiet, even though everyone could see you had feelings for him.

After him and Liza, there was no hope for him to move on. He needed this time for himself and anyone could understand that, you above all. Heartbreaks were common in your love life. Guys had a tendency to take advantage of your kind heart and loving ways. Just as David had his heart off limits, so did you.

While it could be easy to keep distance from him, it was pointless. Abandoning him would make things even more tense and awkward, and raise the question of why you were distancing yourself. For you, it was a night needed for yourself. No boys or vlog squad, just you and your bed and some Netflix. Of course, you loved all of the vlog squad and being with them, but you needed a night to lay in your bed and not feel or think anything in reality, just what was on your TV.

To say it was odd to have your phone ring at two a.m. wasn't completely odd, but definitely was not a nightly thing. The vibration and ringtone called out over the sound of the show, making you reach over to see who it was. With your eyes squinted from the bright light, you made out David's name. Your eyebrows furrowed as you accepted the call.

"Hello?" you asked, in confusion.

"y/n," he laughed, "come over!" His words were a little fumbled. David drinking wasn't impossible but not completely normal either.

"Are you okay?" you asked, laughing a little.

"Just come over," he pleaded. He held out every word in a silly manner.

"David, it's two a.m.," you laughed, cuddling into your blankets more.

"Fine, then I'll come over," he responded.

"You've been drinking, no," you said. Your heart was pounding.

"Then you come here." You could hear the smile in his voice.

"You're not going to stop are you?" you sighed, biting back a smile.

"Not until you come over," he giggled.

"I'll be there in ten," you mumbled, rising into a sitting position.

"Bye, babe," he giggled out before ending the call. At the tiny word, your heart raced. He must be even more intoxicated than you thought. Shaking your head and thoughts, you climbed out of bed and slid on a pair of leggings and a sweater. Once you slipped into some sandals, you brushed your teeth quickly and brushed your hair. That was about presentable as you were going to get at two a.m. Sighing, you headed out the door and into your car. Luckily, David only lived about ten minutes away. After pulling in the driveway, you pulled up your messages and sent him a text saying you were here. Not even a minute later, the front door was open and there stood a tipsy David. With a nervous gulp, you climbed out of your car and headed towards the entrance.

"Hi," you mumbled.

"y/n," he grinned, pulling you into his arms. It wasn't that you had never hugged David, but it was not a common thing. Shock was your first reaction, but then it was bliss. Naturally, from being tired, you cuddled right into his embrace.

"Why did you need me to come over?" you asked, not moving from where you stood. His body was warm and comforting to your tired body.

"I just wanted you to come over," he responded, hugging you tighter.

"At two in the fucking morning?" you questioned, looking up into his eyes. He laughed loudly at you.

"Come inside," he responded, letting go of you. After he let go, you followed him into his house as he headed towards his bedroom.

"Uh, what are we doing?" you asked as he came into his room. Nothing was said as he climbed into his bed. Once he was comfortably in his comforter, he smiled at you.

"Come here," he said, patting his bed with a large grin. Your mouth opened, nervously, trying to find words. "Please," he said, holding out the word. Awkwardly, you took off your sandals and headed towards his bed. Slowly, you crawled into his bed. His comforter was soft and inviting. You laid a couple feet away from him, looking at him. "Like here here," he continued, patting the spot right next to him.

"David," you whispered. Your heart was racing and nervous was an understatement.

"I just want to cuddle," he moaned, loudly. His hand reached out and slung around your waist, trying to get you to come closer. Nervously, you moved until your bodies were an inch apart. With you that close, he was able to tug you completely into his chest. Warmth radiated off of him as your head fell right below his chin. "This is all I wanted," he mumbled. You could feel your heart racing in every inch of you. A few deep breaths left with you a slightly above average pulse. As time went on, you slowly became to feel tired.

"David," you yawned. He made some noise to acknowledge you. "I need to go soon, I'm tired," you murmured. No part of you wanted to go, but you also had to be realistic. Every ounce of you wanted to stay wrapped up in his arms forever, but you knew this was just him drunk and lonely.

"No please don't," he whispered, immediately tightening his grip on your body.

"David, I can't stay," you whispered.

"Why not?" he asked. Suddenly, he pulled away to look at your face. He laughed as he looked at you. A big smile was placed on his face as his placed his hand on your cheek and rubbed it gently. He looked into your eyes as he bit his lip.

"You're drunk," you murmured, looking down.

"I'm not drunk. I'm tipsy," he giggled. When you didn't laugh, he continued. "I'm not that tipsy. I'm aware of my actions and choices."

"Doesn't mean you won't regret them," you whispered, meekly.

"I wouldn't regret anything involving you, y/n," David said, looking you in the eyes.

"David," you groaned, trying to pull away, but you didn't come close to.

"y/n, you know you are so beautiful," David mumbled, ignoring your outburst. His hand on your cheek guided you to look at him. You bit down on your lip. Every bit of you stopped functioning. "Honestly, I just wanted to have you right here with me all the time. Alcohol just made me actually act on it," he continued, his hand traveling to the back of your neck.

"David, you're drunk," you whispered. You could heart your heart racing in your ears.

"I'm not even that drunk!" he exclaimed loudly. His tongue came over and swiped across his bottom lips as he looked at you. "I'm a little tipsy, but I know what I'm doing. I know you y/n. I know I've liked you for months now. I know I want to kiss you right now," he said everything like it was common knowledge and a fact. Words wouldn't come to form or come out of your mouth as you looked at him. By your silence and flushed cheeks, David knew. His fingers entangled in your hair gently before leaning his head to yours. With one swift motion, he had his lips against yours gently. Unintentionally, you let your hand come up and run through his hair. Everything felt so right that you didn't realize you had moved closer to the warmth of his body.

"I've wanted to do that since the first day I saw you," David mumbled, letting his fingers play with your hair gently.

"I like you," you whispered. Even though he had basically said he liked you, you needed to hear him say it. You needed the confirmation that this was happening.

"I like you too," he smiled, tugging you to him. "Now, will you stay and let me enjoy cuddling you?" He smiled as you began to cuddle further into his embrace.

"Only if we can do this again tomorrow night, with you sober," you responded, letting your eyes close.

David laughed and you could hear the smile in his laugh. "Deal."
