| Two | Time

"Hey Meitantei, wake up, we already arrived" Kaito shook Shinichi's shoulder gently. His right arm wrapped tightly around Shinichi's waist while his left hand was shaking Shinichi's shoulder gently. Shinichi rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands while a small yawn escaped from his mouth. He was still not fully awake from his deep slumber.

"Oh my, my, he is so cute like a little kitten" Kaito cooed. Shinichi started gathering his stuff and finally realized that Kaito's right arm was still wrapped around his waist. He blushed and his face suddenly turned very red and he could feel his cheeks were burning hot from embarrassment. He quickly released Kaito's arm away from his waist.

"What are you doing, sir?!" He half-shouted to Kaito.

"What? You suddenly slept on my shoulder and I was very uncomfortable back then and my arms went very numb, so the best way to ease the numbness was straighten my arm around your waist" he said while started gathering his stuff too and started leaving the clueless Shinichi. Shinichi blinked in disbelief and sighed. He started leaving the bus. Once, he stepped out the bus, he looked around and realized that the place he just arrived was not his home and not very familiar.

"Where the hell am I?" he muttered under his breath and turned around to ask the bus driver. Unfortunately, the bus had already leaving him behind.

"Hey you! Wait!" Shinichi shouted while running towards Kaito who walked from the opposite side from Shinichi. Kaito stopped and turned his body towards Shinichi.

"What's wrong,tantei?" He asked innocently. He tucked his hands in his wool jacket while burrowing his eyebrows together. Shinichi huffed.

"Where am I?" Shinichi asked half-heartedly. He felt very uncomfortable around this engineer guy maybe one of the reason was Kaito is too eco-friendly or talkative. Contrast to Shinichi who is a quiet and taciturn person instead.

"Well Meitantei, welcome to Ekoda" he said while expanding his arms. Suddenly, a flock of doves escaped from his arms, flying around Shinichi and Kaito.

"E..Ekoda?" Shinichi stuttered. He suddenly felt very numb. His legs were shattering. His mind was very blank and his knees fell on the ground. He gazed towards Kaito.

"Really?" he whispered. He mustered all his energy and tried to stand and stormed towards Kaito and grasped a fistful of Kaito's collar.

"You know, sir! It took 2 hours for me to arrive my home and I just don't fucking understand how the hell I'm in Ekoda, right now! I don't have any friends or relatives here in fucking Ekoda and I just had a very important case tomorrow and I have to arrive early to the freaking Police Office for that godamn Kaito Kid's case because he is freaking mental and messed my mind with his heists and stuff.." he puffed his breath and released his grasp on Kaito's collar. Kaito could see clearly a few drops of Shinichi's tears rolled down his face but he knew Shinichi tried to hide the fact that he was crying.

"Shin..nichi you can stay at my home" Kaito said while put his right hand on Shinichi's shoulder hesitantly. Shinichi just kept silent and moved his gaze away from Kaito's eyes.

"This way" Kaito leaded the way. Shinichi followed Kaito from behind and occasionally Kaito turned his head to Shinichi to make sure whether he was following him or not. Shinichi kicked some pebbles through his way towards Kaito's apartment which located only 15 minutes from the bus stop.

20 minutes later

"Come in, Meitantei-kun" He said with a very sweet smile. Shinichi just gave him an insincere smile to him and took off his boots. Shinichi sat on the black couch while Kaito seemed to prepare something in the kitchen.

"Hot chocolate for you and me. Oh, if you want toad marshmallow you can take it in the kitchen" He put a tray of two mugs of hot chocolate on the coffee table. Shinichi took one of the mugs carefully with both of his hands and muttered a barely audible 'thanks' to Kaito.

"Well, earlier you said you have to proceed your important investigation of Kaito Kid tomorrow." Kaito started the conversation. Shinichi turned his head towards Kaito and nodded his head.

"Yeah, why?" he responded. Kaito just shrugged.

"Nah, I just wondered why the police really want to catch Kaito Kid. Well, he did not technically steal any gems though. He just messing with the police. At the end he will return the gems too" He simply said while sipping his hot chocolate. Shinichi felt hesitant to answer Kaito's question because the case was rather personal and not suitable to share with the citizens.

"Kaito, why your hot chocolate is so sweet. How much sugar you put in it?" He asked.

"I love to keep it sweet, what's the problem anyways?"he said while shrugging his shoulders.

"DIABETES BRO" Shinichi replied with 'a matter of fact' arms sign. Kaito rolled his eyes and replied

"Still young to die of Diabetes" Shinichi glanced at his watch and the clock showed him that the time was already 12 in the midnight. Kaito's eyes are still glued on his television as he was playing some games on his PS4 and not really aware of his surroundings.Shinichi watched him play the whole game and sometimes also cheered with him when Kaito managed to strike some goal as Kaito decided to play NBA 2k19. The clock ticked and ticked. Once the clock struck 1 in the morning, both of them already fell asleep on the couch. Kaito didn't realize that he was spooning Shinichi until the next morning.

"Shit..Shit..Shit I'm late for work" Kaito suddenly woke up from his deep slumber. The time was already 8 in the morning. He jumped out from the couch and took a quick bath. He quickly dressed himself and ran to the living room. He saw the detective was still asleep on his couch. He walked towards the sleeping detective and riffled his hair softly and said.

"Wake up Shinichi, it's already 10 in the morning" He said softly in Shinichi ears. Shinichi opened his eyes slowly and stared at Kaito.

"Well, already late for the meeting" He said and somehow, Kaito found he seemed so relax with the fact that he was already late for the meeting. Kaito stood there clueless.

"Well, Meitantei is so relax unlike yesterday night , he was so fussy and whinny" Kaito said to himself. Shinichi laid there on the couch for several minutes and turned his head to Kaito.

"Why you don't go to your work yet? Wanna lose job or what?" Shinichi said while making his way to the kitchen.

"Excuse me sir, may I use the kitchen?" Shinichi asked and Kaito just simply nodded his head.

"Yeah, I'm going now but before you leave my house tantei-kun, make sure you switch off all the switches and just close the entrance door cause' you don't need to lock it though. Once it close it automatically locked." Kaito said before leaving Shinichi in the kitchen.

"Well, work hard then" Shinichi replied boringly while stirring his steamed black coffee.

"Of course I am" Kaito beamed. He closed the door behind and sighed in happiness. 'It would be better if I can bit 'love you' to him' he muttered and started walking to the bus stop.

In Kaito's apartment

"He seemed suspicious and I think I know someone who is exactly like him" Shinichi thought while sipping his coffee with both his feet on the coffee table. His mind kept thinking about Kaito Kid and Kaito Kuroba. He determined to make sure to catch the thief by his hand someday and he just needed time and the thief will be caught alas.

Once Kaito arrived his home, Shinichi already gone. He found a note on his couch with some scribbles on it.

Meet me at Starbucks café in Tokyo if you don't want your true identity of Kaito Kid will expose soon

Kaito stood there motionless while his eyes kept staring on the note and smirked.

"It's a date then" He said while tossing the note out of the window and the note flew away, following the wind flow and threw himself on his bed.
