First Friday

6th months after – December 16, 2016

Miyoung started in a smaller department and she couldn't believe that her department grew bigger as time goes by.

They are currently in the company's Christmas party for the admin employees and she was assigned to organize this event. This party is a semi-casual one, so she decided to wear a long-sleeved maroon dress and black stockings.

Everyone looks beautiful and handsome tonight, especially Kim Hanbin. He was wearing a dark blue suit with a white polo inside. He's also wearing a turtleneck inside his polo. His hairstyle is the same ruffled one, but it looked good with his suit.

It was her 6th month already and she was already a regular employee. She couldn't be happier. She was close with almost everyone especially with her crush, Kim Hanbin.

It started when they were having lunch together. He was really thoughtful because he bought her lunch and shared a table together. They talked about their interests and she was surprised because they both have the same interests. They're both into movies and writing.

"Okay, everyone!" She called their attention.

"For the exchanging of gifts, I want us to describe the one we picked before telling their names. Okay?" She instructed and everyone nodded.

It started with her manager, Kim Naeun.

"The person I picked is a reliable person. He is really kind and caring to everyone. He makes sure that everyone is okay and I'm also close with him. I consider him as one of my closest friends here." She paused. "He is Song Yunhyeong!"

Yunhyeong, a year older than the 24 year old Miyoung, went to the stage and thanked Naeun. He is also close with Miyoung and she treats him as an older brother.

Everyone cheered them and someone took their pictures. Once they're done, he started describing the one he picked and called her on the stage. Few minutes has passed when her crush was called on stage too.

"Okay. So this person, I'm really thankful for this person. She is really kind and sweet and passionate. When she started here, everything went better. I couldn't live my everyday without her here. She's a special person. So..." Hanbin trailed for a bit. "Her name is Park Miyoung." He smiled widely at her name. Everyone cheered at the both of them and the others are chanting both of their names, as if their names were part of their prayers.

To say that she was shocked was an understatement. Her heart was beating loudly and she can feel her face burning from excitement and happiness. She couldn't believe that she was picked by her crush!

She stood up and went to his side, shock still prominent on her face. He smiled widely at her again and gave her his gift.

"I don't know if you'd like this but here's my gift to you." He softly said at her and she opened her gift.

"Woah, sir, this is more than I expected. Thank you. I love it!" She smiled at him and his gift. It was a hardbound of her favorite book – Game of Thrones.

Naeun took their picture and instructed them to stand side by side. They both smiled at the camera and Naeun took lots of pictures, to which they both laughed.

He hugged her and she hugged him back, and he went back to his seat. Miyoung described the one she picked and the party went on for the whole night.

Hours passed and they were all tipsy from drinking beer. It was a successful event for Miyoung and she was relieved and happy to see that everyone is enjoying the night.

Some people were dancing in the front and others are talking animatedly in their seats. She was talking with Yunhyeong about their lives when the music stopped.

"May I please call Mr. Hanbin in front of the stage." Kim Jiwon, from the other department too, called. He is directly working with Hanbin and they really are close friends.

Hanbin laughed and went to stand next to him. "And also, I'd like to call Miyoung-ah here."

Miyoung was confused yet afraid on what will happen next but still, she went to them. She's also close with Jiwon and knowing him, he's really mischievous. The fact that he knows she likes Hanbin makes her too nervous. He definitely has something on his sleeve.

"Alrighty. To celebrate the night, Hanbin-ah, please ask Miyoung to dance." Jiwon grinned.

"What?" Miyoung asked, suddenly embarrassed.

"Jiwon-ah..." Hanbin sighed, still smiling. "I won't dance without a music! A song, everyone?"

Everyone sang Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 and Hanbin bowed like a prince in front of Miyoung and held out his hand. She laughed at his gestured and curtsied in front of him and held his hand.

As soon as they held hands, everyone cheered again. They were laughing while they were dancing. She couldn't believe this night, actually. He picked her, he bought her a grander gift, and they were dancing, like dancing! She silently thanked Jiwon for setting this up as it made her truly happy.

They did not finish the whole song, but as soon as they were done dancing, Hanbin initiated the hug. He hugged her tight and she hugged him back.

She couldn't remove the smile on her face for the whole night. This will always be a memorable night for her as she danced and hugged with her crush. It may be a small gesture for him, but it means the world to her.
