My heart was heavy, my eyes damp with tears. I'd been crying over the song, It Gets Better by Joel Faviere. It was such a sad song...so..can you blame me? Slowly, I looked over to Carly, who had been conversing with a muscular, blonde-haired boy. As I looked over to him, he flashed me a white, teethy grin, which made me get a bit of butterflies, but I knew I shouldn't bother to gain a guy so beautiful. Leaning over to Carly, I tapped her shoulder, "Uhm..hey, Carly?"
Carly turned, her brown, slightly curly hair flopping over her shoulder, green eyes glinting with some red color, "Yes?" She gave me a sweet smile, as if she was welcoming me and greeting me into a warm friendship.
I leaned back with an uncomfortable expression spread across my face and looked to the blonde-haired guy, "Uh..who's he?"
It was as if her eyes became bright emeralds, for they lit up as she widened them and she gasped, "Oh! I never introduced you two, did I? Aw, bummer. Silly me." She gave a small giggle, which made the guy chuckle a bit, and almost get a small blush, which was surprising I even noticed.
The guy waved, "My name's Joseph!" He grinned a white, toothy grin, which nearly seemed to sparkle in the sunlight streaming into the bus from the windows. Staring at him, I attempted to take my mind off of things and listened the deafening rumble of the engine and the air-conditioning on the bus, "Krissy.." I mumbled, looking down at my black and white converse.
Joseph giggled a bit and fell back into his seat at the silly face Carly made him, "No! Please! Stop!" He tried to get these words out between his clearly audible giggles, though he barely got the words out, for it was all stuttered and stuff like that.
Carly laughed so hard she fell back upon me, "Joseph! You're so funny when you laugh that hard!" She kept laughing, and it got so overwhelming that she sort of snort-giggled, and stopped a bit, her face pink with embarrassment. I smiled and giggled in a shy manner.
Joseph squealed in excitement, "Oh my gosh! That was C-U-T-E! Cute!" He reached over the aisle and grabbed her, hugging her when the bus driver wasn't looking, and let go of her, pressing his arms against his chest, violently shaking and squealing like any fangirl would do to those they fangirled over.
Since I had super-hearing, I tried to drown out the voices of both Joseph and Carly and rested the left side of my head on the window, and squinted, pulling up my hoodie. Slowly, my wolf-ears began forming and pinned themselves back, listening to a conversation. I carefully saw it all. I loved to sneak in on romantic conversations, because it was like my 'real-life' romance novel of my own.
It was a gay couple, indeed, and I could tell that the blonde-haired with bright-blue eyes, and an eyepatch over his right eye was Bill, and the one with black hair that had red tips, and the red-brown eyes was named Ace.. and so this happened:
Bill leaned over and snatched the pencil away from Ace, which made the boy frown and attempt to get it back, but Bill chuckled, "Ah! Ah! Ah! You have to kiss me for it!"
Ace's ears grew red, "B..but! BBIIIILLL! I don't want to give in so easily.." He gave the puppy-dog face, which made Bill's face grow a light-shade of pink and squeal a bit. It was as if Bill fangirled.
Bill squealed, and held Ace's face, "You're TOO cute!" He leaned in and kissed Ace, and Ace leaned farther in, deepening the kiss.
I chuckled at what I witnessed, and the MOMENT Carly tapped me on the shoulder, I squeaked and the wolf-ears disappeared, my hood being yanked off, "We're at school." She stated, and grinned, dragging me off the bus.
Being the first day, I had NO IDEA where to go, "Uh, Carly?"
"Yes?" She stopped in mid-step and piveted, staring at me with bright-red eyes. She had swiftly put her hood on and had her hands stuffed in her pockets, with the hood on, her face hidden in the shadows. Her words were slow and thought-out.
"Why...are your eyes..red..?" I widened my eyes, being yanked in the shadows of two walls close together. I was standing in the wedge of two walls with Carly, and she waited for the others to pass before she slowly talked.
"Look, you don't need to know ye-" She stopped, just as she saw my wolf-ears form, and she opened my mouth to see canine teeth, and she grunted, "Okay. Fine. I'm a vampire. Sigh.. I didn't know you were..a shifter," She paused and looked behind her, taking her hood off, "It's cool to come out!" She whisper-yelled.
In a flash, a shadow appeared right behind Carly, "Hello." Joseph grinned, his eyes a glowing yellow.
