"Welcome to Day 2 of the Grand Magic Games, the ranking are as such: Crime Sociere leads with twenty points, Mermaid heel and Blue Pegasus follow both with thirteen points, Dragons teeth with eleven, Lamia scale with nine, Saber Tooth with six, Fairy Tail with two, and Quatro Cerberus with zero!"

There were no cheers this time, everyone was horrified by the previous days and were concerned about today.

"The game today will be a simple test; one contestant from each team will face a monster and fight it. If they beat it in less than ten minutes they proceed to the next, so on and so forth until there is only one mage left standing!" Mato yelled.

"You got this Kinana!" Laki yelled. Erik watched Dragon Teeth carefully, Treena stepped forward and looked up at Sting, a deep sound resounded in Sting and he looked like he wanted to commit murder.

"Kill em' Treena!" Quill yelled. Then he smiled at Erik making Erik choke down a snarl. Something primal in Erik stirred that made him want to jump down and rip Quill's throat out.

"Here are your first monsters!" Mato grinned.

Eight monsters each emblazed with the guild mark of the person they were supposed to fight. Kinana raised her hands.

"With the balance between speed and strength, Histhera I summon thee!" Kinana yelled. An orange-tinted transparent snake appeared and lunged for the beast making it dissipate in a matter of seconds. A second beast appeared, Histhera got that one too.

Eve of Blue Pegasus was the first to fall, then Toby Horhorta of Lamia Scale, then Arana Webb of Mermaid heel, then Bacchus of Quatro Cerberus, then Sorano who was exhausted from her all-nighter with Yukino; she had wanted to compete despite everyone else's objections.

On the thirty-second monster, Treena was hit by a monster and was sent flying towards Kinana. She landed and then collapsed and let out a cry, "OW! Oh... my ankle... I surrender!" she cried... everything about her made Sting snarl... he knew she was up to something. 

Quill jumped down "I'm just gonna help her, he announced raising his hands. As he walked across the field Kinana was hit and sent skidding closer to Quill... She didn't notice Quill approaching. Quill bumped into her as she got up startling everyone and making the hair one Erik's neck stand on end.

"Sorry," Quill said slyly. He looked up at Erik and his voice rang out loud and clear in Erik's ears.

"Try and figure out what I did there you coward," Quill's soul teased. Erik snarled startling everyone.

"Erik, what's wrong?" Laxus asked.

"Ohh wow! Never mind, I'm fine!" Treena grinned jumping to her feet as Quill helped her up. Everyone was confused.

"Was it all a ruse?" Levy asked.

"Don't worry, Treena, sometimes these things happen," Quill called walking back to the balcony with Treena. He reached the top of the balcony and stared challengingly at Erik.

Erik snarled again.

"Seriously Erik, what's up with you?" Cana sighed taking another sip of beer.

"Nothing," Erik growled. He got to his feet, "Laki, can I talk with you?" he hissed to the purple-haired woman.

The two met in the hallway.

"What's wrong?" Laki asked crossing her arms.

"I need you to go get Porlyusica."

"Why on earth would I do that?"

"Quill did something to Kinana," Erik said darkly.

"What did he do?!" Laki said dangerously.
