I was asked;
When is the best time to reveal big events in your story such as abuse or information about the character?
-----------------------------------------
1. ConnectThe best way to have a moment when you go back into time (Flashback) is when something that happens to your character, and it reminds them of the past.
-----------------------------------------
2. Keep A Mystery Or Don'tThe amount of information you give to your readers is your choice! I feel like for this point it's really hard to me to tell you what to do, and I want you to know that whatever you're comfortable with, is what you should do. If you want something to be a mystery, then don't tell your readers. It's as simple as not putting it in.
Remember that you are the creater and you get to say what you want and don't want in your story.
-----------------------------------------
3. Use It, Don't Abuse ItFlashbacks are not always necessary, sometimes just one that ties all the loose ends together of you book.. is enough. Unless it's part of your character where there are always flashbacks, that's fine. But don't use a flashback just to fill in more words, use the flashback to awe the readers or make them gasp or cry. The flashback can be a wonderful thing to use, so don't abuse it. Too many flashbacks can be boring and just straight out too much.

These are all the tips I can think of, I know there are only a few but I tried to be as straight forward as possible.I really hope this helped you, sorry that it took so long.
Comment down below any other tips you would like, any questions and I will try my absolute best to get to them as soon as possible.
