How can I get more people to read my books? Or follow?

1. Add tags to your books

I feel that the easiest way to get people to look at your book is by the tags. There is an option on your book before you publish to add tags, Wattpad even requires a certain number of tags before you publish your book. Take advantage of those tags, it's a good way to have your book pop up when readers are looking for a specific thing.

2. Enter book contests

There are a handful of book contests made by fans! There are hundreds of BTS related book contests. Entering your book gives your book a higher chance of being seen. Even if you don't win, people still read it, and if they like your book.. they'll most likely recommend your book to others!

3. Make friends

Most of the times your friends are your #1 fans, they spread the word and tell other people to read your books! But don't take advantage of this, don't make friends on wattpad to get follows or reads. Sometimes it's not about those things, sometimes it's about the people you know.

4. Have an appealing cover

Like I've said before, Wattpad is a online app where visual is important. The saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover" doesn't imply to this app. Keep in mind that of your cover is eye catching, people are most likely going to click on your book. And if you don't know how you make a nice book cover, there are many cover shops here on wattpad with people who will gladly make them for you! Covers are very important, put as much effort into your cover like you hopefully put in your writing.

5. Make sure your chapters are up to par

Though a lot of people post chapters after one run through of writing, grammar and punctuation is very important in a book. The way you structure your chapters and paragraphs capture the readers attention. If there are too many mistakes it can cause a reader to lose interest. Just like grammar and punctuations are important in school, it is important in your books. Though I know it's hard to perfect, which it is, but there are apps such as GRAMMARLY that can help just a little bit. Though, keep in mind that sometimes apps can make mistakes, so always make sure that you go through your chapter at least three times before posting.

6. Have a good description

Your book description is the second thing that readers see when they click on your book. Much like how you'd read the back of a hard or paper book at school, barnes and nobel, at the library to see if a book is interesting, this description is the same thing. For your description you don't want to write too much that the reader already knows about how the story ends, but they also dont want to know too little. Just enough to keep them wanting more, it could be helpful to see some in person to get an idea on how to write a description.

7. Other social media

Sometimes having another platform can higher the chances of people seeing your work. Sometimes platforms such as amino, twitter, Instagram and even pinterest can be useful to get your name and work out there.

8. Be active

Sometimes if you're active on your account more people will be interested in giving you a follow.

9. Do it for the right reason

Writing on wattpad should not be for the reads or the number of follows. Write on Wattpad because you love to and it's fun. Having thoughts of numbers will never get you far.

10. Respect other writers on Wattpad

Never ever post your story on someone elses board without permission, direct message them and ask them personally. Even let them know that you've direct messaged them, don't ever ask them to ask their readers to read their book. They will do that if they want to.
