My summer holiday was coming to a close. Soon I had to be going back home to prepare for school. God I hate summer. Forcing me to go back to my home. Away from my Grandma. I've been ignoring my mother since I left to my Grandma's. I know she is just worried about me but I don't care. I know that if I had answered her calls she would have guilt tripped me into coming back early. Why couldn't she be like Dad and not even try?

But at least she cares I guess.

"You ready to go?" Kelly calls from my doorway.

I nod. We are heading to the shopping centre to get some shopping done before I go back home. I grab my wallet off my desk and walk to the car. It's a quiet drive to the centre but it isn't awkward. More, peaceful.

We arrive at the centre which is less full than it normally is. Guess it's not that bad a day, huh.

"I'm going to head to the chemist quickly, how about you head in to Target and look around till I get back?" Kelly asks.

"Yeah sure, sounds good," I smile at her before we part ways and I walk into the centre.

I walk into the centre and look around before spotting Target. I fast walk into Target and move around to the back of the store. I'm in the electronics part of the store. It's not great electronics but at least they are cheap. There is a new tablet kind of try out thing. I flick through the applications that are on it. Someone downloaded Minecraft and Geometry Dash. I cringe before looking around for somewhere else to go. There is the book area but I rather go there with Grandma so she can pick out a book. I could check out the toy section but it's not really my thing. I decide looking for some clothes would be better. I head over to the women's section of the store and walk past the work clothing. Once I'm in the 'everyday' part of the store I start looking through their shirts.

I pick out a green long sleeve shirt with a blue flower design, black and white striped shirt and a yellow off-shoulder blouse. Now I'm deciding if I should get an off the sleeve crop top in blue or red. The red one would go good with my off white jeans but the blue one would go well with my waist high black skirt. But then I could also match a yellow one with my jeans AND skirt.

"You should get the red one, it matches with your hair."

I jump away from the voice, almost knocking over the rack of clothes. I turn to see the Alex boy from yesterday. He begins laughing as I juggle with the clothing in my hands. I eventually stable myself and the clothing before glaring at the boy in front of me.

"You can't scare strangers like that." I growl.

"But you aren't a stranger."

"You can't scare acquaintances like that either."

"Well sorry then. Now like I said, I like the red one."

I look down at the clothes in my hand. It is pretty . . . but. "I don't care what you think, what are you even doing in the women's section?"

"I was looking for a new crop top that will really compliment my hair!" He says mockingly.

"I am just waiting for my Grandma."

"Ah the old lady from yesterday."

"She isn't that old. I bet she could beat you in a race."

"Really? An old, weak lady like that could beat a strong, YOUNG man like me?"

"Just because she is older than you doesn't mean she is weak," I turn back to the clothing, looking through it.

"Sure. . . What's your name?"

"What?"

"What. Is. Your. Name? Are you dumb?"

"I'm not telling you my name."

"Why not?" I turn and look to see him with a serious look on his face.

"Because you are a stranger and you haven't even given me a good reason as to why you are in the women's section. *sharp inhale* ARE YOU A SEXUAL ASSAULTER? ARE YOU HERE TO FIND A SMALL GIRL WHO IS ALONE LIKE ME AND HARASS THEM?"

"No, I'm just buying a present for my sister. It's her birthday tomorrow. Also I saw you and came over to chat,"

"Well now you should go away and get back to buying things for your sister," I say placing the yellow and blue crop tops back on the rail.

"So you are listening to my suggestion?" He smirks, leaning against a rail beside me.

"NO! I just . . . already have a blue and yellow crop top." Shit.

"So then why were you deciding between a red, blue and yellow crop top?"

"Because . . . I was thinking about getting them for my sisters but decided against it." Nice excuse!

"You have sisters? What are they like?" Ugh, does this guy ever stop?

"Why should I tell you?"

"Because I asked." Arrogant much?

"Tsk," I turn from him and start walking away to the register.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Alex asks, rushing after me.

"To the register," I say walking towards a register with a young girl behind it, "Just these thanks."

"What about the old lady?" He asks.

I ignore him and hand the clothes over to the young girl. She scans them before placing them in a bag.

"That'll be $64.50," The cashier says brightly.

I hand her the money and she places it in the register. She stuffs the receipt into the bag and passes it to me.

"Have a nice day!" She smiles brightly. Geez this girl is too excited to be a cashier.

I turn to walk only to bump into Alex. I frown before walking around him and towards the entrance.

"HEY! Stop ignoring me. I know you can't leave without your Grandma!" He groans.

I stop and think. Shit I want to get away from him but I have to wait for my grandma. That's when I remember that the gods love me and I spot my Grandma walking towards Target. I smile up at Alex which shocks him, causing him to move back a step.

"Well my grandma is right there so I better get going!" I exclaim joyously.

I fast walk away from Alex and towards my Grandma. She looks at me in confusion as I drag her away from Target.

"Hey! I wanted to get a book!" She groans.

"We can get one from the bookstore down the street," I try to hide the annoyance in my voice.

"Why can't we get one from Target?" She looks back and sees Alex watching us walk away, "OH, that's why we can't go to Target."

I look over at her to see her smirking.

"OI! It's not like that, he was annoying and harassing me in the store!" I try to ward her thoughts away from 'Oh a cute boy!'

Not that I think he is cute. Short, brown hair, a big bright smile, broad shoulders and a slim waist. Let's not forget his dark, grey eyes that remind me of the dark clouds that brush over the sky before it rains. Totally unattractive . . . right?

Alright guys, remember to tell me if you want me to continue this story. See ya
