It was finally time for me to go home. I was not excited one bit. Why can't I just stay with Grandma forever?

"Mila, it's time," My Grandma enters my room with a sympathetic smile.

"Alright . . . I-I'm coming," I stutter, picking up my suitcase and leaving my room.

We walk through the kitchen and to the front door. My Grandma stops me before I walk through. I turn to her and I see tears going down her cheeks.

"Hey, hey, Grandma I'll be fine. I swear," I shush her and brush away her tears.

"I know that. You are a strong girl. I just wish you didn't have to be," She wipes her nose.

I wrap my arms around her and try my hardest not to cry. She pulls me close before letting me go. I look back up at her and give her my best smile before walking out the door.

"Goodbye Grandma."

"Goodbye Mila."

She stands on the porch whilst I put my suitcase in the boot of my car and get into the driver's seat. I'm a learner so I'm not meant to driving alone but Grandpa told me when I first got my license "If you don't get caught, it's not illegal." He wasn't the best influence but he was right. I haven't got caught yet. I wave to my Grandma before reversing out of the driveway and down the road. Time to go home.

It was only a 2 hour drive back to Liondale. My Grandma lived in the countryside whilst my parents lived in the suburbs of the city. I love living in the city but I feel like the countryside is where I belong. But my preference doesn't matter. Mum's job is what is important. It's the whole reason we live in the city anyway.

I was listening to Spotify to try and calm my nerves. I already am running through what my mother will say when I get back. 'Don't ignore my calls EVER again!' 'Do you know how worried I was?!' 'You are grounded for two weeks!' I am NOT excited to be grounded after just coming home. I pull into my parent's driveway and I can feel the chills running up my spine. I probably am just sitting in the car for another 5 minutes before working up the courage to get out. I breath in and out slowly whilst grabbing my suitcase and walking slowly up to the front door. I forgot how big our house was. It's a second story modern house with white walls and black accents.

I was reaching for the door knob but the door swung open before I could even touch it. I jump back, almost falling over as I look up at my mother. She looks . . . excited?

"Oh thank god you are back home honey! I need your help!" She pulls me and my suitcase roughly into the house.

"Mum? W-What's going on?" I stutter as she pushes me further into the house.

She pushes me into the kitchen causing my eyes to widen and jaw to slack. There was chocolate EVERYWHERE. Mixing bowls, rolling pins and whisks were on every surface available.

"What the fuck happened in here?" I choke out, too shocked to be able to say anything else.

"I may or may not have tried to make chocolate brownies for Harry's bake sale?" My mother shrugs, her voice going higher with every word she mutters out.

"THIS was from making brownies?!" I turn to look at her, she crouches slightly from my hard gaze.

"Maybe?" She squeaks out.

"Holy hell woman! What type of fucking brownies were you trying to make that it destroyed the whole kitchen!?" I laugh as I walk around the kitchen island.

"HEY! I tried. Well anyway, I need you to clean it up," She says sternly, at least trying.

"What? You made the mess, you clean it up!" I bark out.

"I have a meeting to go to in . . . 5 minutes ago! SHIT! If you clean up the kitchen I will forgive you for ignoring me the whole time you were at your Grandmothers!" She stares me down at the last part.

"Ugh fine, but you should get to that meeting."

Her eyes widen immediately and she grabs her suitcase from beside the kitchen bench before running out of the house. I listen to the door shut before turning back to the mess that is my kitchen. What a great welcome home present . . .

I decide that it would be better to get it over with than my Dad coming home and getting all pissed off about it, causing him to have a fight with my mum when she gets home from her meeting. They will probably fight anyway but it's better if I clean it anyway.

I start getting to work on cleaning the kitchen.

I finishing cleaning the kitchen itself and I am now hand washing the dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. I find rubber gloves under the sink and begin working on washing the bowls.

"Hey Cinderella, finally back from Grandma's?" my sister, Joslyn, calls from the hallway.

"I know that is meant to be an insult but thanks for calling me a princess," I blow a kiss in her direction.

"Ugh, you are so stupid. Anyway, I'm going to Jeremy's party so you have to tell Mum I went to Ally's house."

"And why would I cover for you?"

"Because if you don't I'll fucking kill you."

"I'm not scared of you but fine. I'd rather not have Mum and Dad fight because you are an idiot."

Joslyn smiles triumphantly before getting a text and walking out the front door. I hear the rumble of Jeremy's convertible launching down the street. I fail to see how Joslyn got a boyfriend. She is just bitchy 80% of the time. She is my 2nd oldest sister, Willow is my oldest sister and Harry is my younger brother. Willow is probably at work and Harry is most likely in his room playing video games.

Straight after thinking about Harry I hear him yelling from upstairs. "FUCK YOU OLI YOU DUMB PIECE OF SHIT! THAT WAS MY KILL!"

I sigh heavily but continue to wash the dishes. This family just can't stop fucking swearing can they? Oh fuck.

This chapter was pretty rushed and is broken up a lot but I just needed Mila to be home for plot. Anyway, hope you enjoyed it :)
