The run

"Come on carter!" I stick my head inside carters room, "I don't feel like it tonight" he groans, I roll my eyes "whatever....I'm still going"

I walk outside of the warehouse, I run into the woods, I slip all my clothes off, i scream as I feel my bones start to shift, soon I'm on the ground and growling, I turn and start to run into the woods, as I run through the woods I catch the scent of another wolf....a scent I don't recognize, I decide to go it over the perimeter that my "father" told me not to go across, I follow the scent, running through the big open field

I get to the other side of the field and into the woods, I follow the scent until it gets stronger and stronger, I stop when I hear running, I turn and the running stops as I see another wolf in front of me,

I take a few steps back, the gray wolf steps forward, his blue eyes fixed on mine, he keeps stepping closer, I growl at him causing him to step back, he howls and then I hear about 3 more coming from all around me, I turn and start running, trying to get back to the warehouse

I make it back to where I changed and I change back and put my clothes back on, I run inside "what's wrong?" I look over and see carter sitting at the table with a book in his hand, I get control of my breathing and answer "nothing......I just ran too fast" he looks at me confused and slowly nods, I hurry out of the room and back to mine, I sit on my bed "shit.....I shouldn't have gone out of the perimeter" I lay down in my bed going over all the things that could happen, 'he could find my family....he could kill us" I sit up when carter comes into my room "hey amber.....you good?" I smile "yeah....I'm good" he nods and sits next to me, "could I stay in here tonight?......Ali took over my room" I choke back a laugh "Ali.....she's 15 and she took your room, your 22" he nods and smirks "yea...but-" I cut him off "you can sleep in here...it's fine, but your sleeping on the floor, he smiles and walks over to a bean bag in the corner of my room and lays down, in seconds he's snoring, I turn over and eventually fall asleep,

Ambers dream

I run through the field, the cold air flowing through my fur, my eyes fixed on a deer in front of me, I chase it for a while, then I stop when I hear a growl, I look in front of me and see the same dark grey wolf from before, everything goes dark and the only light is from his bright eyes

I jump up, sweat running down my face, carter pokes his head in my room "you ok?" I nod and wipe the sweat off my face "I'm fine" I get up and grab me some clothes and go to the bathroom, I change into some jean shorts and a gray shirt, I slip on my cowgirl boots and walk to the kitchen, my other best friend nick is sitting on the counter eating a bowl of cereal and Ali is sitting at the table on her phone, I walk up and pull out my phone, I walk over to the counter and grab a handful of the cereal out of the box and shove it on my mouth, Alex keeps staring at me "what?"

he smirks "nothing" I roll my eyes "whatever" I jump on the counter next to him, he watches as I slide next to him and put my head on his shoulder "I'm bored" he nods, "same" Ali yells form the table with her mouth full of food, I smile "where's dad?" Carter doesn't take his eyes off his guitar in his hands "I think he went out of town or something?" I nod and jump off the counter, "good.....he hasn't been in a good mood lately" "well I'm sorry sweetie" my dad growls from the other side of the kitchen, coming from downstairs I freeze and spin myself around "uhh....hey dad" I nervously smile, he comes closer and smiles, "I'm sorry if I'm not in a good mood"

I smirk "sorry dad....I'm not in a good mood either" he nods

I walk over to my room and shut the door behind me, I walk to the bathroom and slip my clothes off, I turn on the water and step in, a chill runs up my spine as the hot water hits my skin, "it's gonna be a long week"
