The day is warm, clear sky, the sun shining down on the civilians as they all go on with there daily lives at work and home. The city crowded with vehicles driving along the roadway's and stopping at lights and sign, as the people there cross the street's, visit shops, eat at resturants, and enjoy there day. But unlike any other normal day, something out of the ordinary occurs. Multiple explosions around the city would go off in buildings, to streets, and to sidewalks. Civilians panic and run in every direction hoping an explosion doesn't go off under there feet. A building begins to collapse from the multiple waves of violent shaking caused by the explosions, rubble starting to fall to the ground. But in the falling rubble's path, a small child frozen in fear watches at they get closer and closer to crushing them. But in the next few seconds, the rubble would have stopped in mid-air, floating above the child. A women dressed in a dark purple costume and black cape slowly floats to the ground, her hand raised slightly in the air. A man in the panicked crowed see's her and yell's out.

"Look! It's her! Gravis!"

Most of the civilians who were running by had over heard the man yell the heroines name, coming to a stop and smiles coming across there faces as they began to cheer. At the same moment, a muscular man in blue would fly over there head's, another civilian yelling out a name.

"And it's also Stronghold!"

Gravis and Stronghold, two of the cities top superheros doing there daily routine of hero work. A normal day in this city full of hero's and villains. As Stronghold flew over area's of the city to be sure no one was in need of help, a mysterious man, dressed in a black ballistic vest, black custom made cargo pants, tucked into black combat boots, a long black jacket with a hood attached, and a black mask to finish it up, closely watched him. The man reached behind his waist where a equipment belt was, pulling out a small circular device, pressing a button on it before throwing it out towards Stronghold and attaching itself to his back. At the push of a button on his belt buckle, Stronghold would have begun to fall towards the ground, hitting it with a loud thud and the sound of pavement cracking. The man on top of the building would have jump off the edge, swiftly swinging off poles in his reach and landing safely onto the ground right in front of Stronghold. Seeing the unknown man, Stronghold would have risen from the crowd, confronting the man.

"You! Who are you and what have you done to me! I've met many villains but you are a stranger, now speak before I make you talk!"

The man of mystery would say nothing before pulling out weapon from his belt, extending into a long staff. With no warning, he made one strong leap towards Stronghold, jabbing the end of the staff into his face, blood spewing from his mouth, Stronghold stumbling back a bit before gaining his footing. At that moment he knew something was very wrong. He is Stronghold, the cities strongest and toughest hero there is. But to draw blood from a mear metal staff?

"What....have you done to me?...No one can draw blood from me! Not even my worst enemy!"

The man who has drawn the first blood from Stronghold, look's straight at his face, even while wearing the mask, Stronghold can tell his gaze his sharp and piercing. With a deep voice, the man finally spoke.

"You hero's have met your match...who I am is none of your concern, since you'll be dead in the next few seconds. Your death will be a message to all those who have betrayed me...framed my family.....killed my wife!....AND TOOK MY DAUGHTER AWAY!!"

With a now shocked expression, Stronghold now knew who he was standing in front of. "Allen...Allen Vane....is that...you...if it is...please....you have to understand! We had to do it! We!"

Before he could finish, a gun shot would have been heard, a bullet hole now in Stronghold's head. His body falling to it's knee's then falling to it's side as blood seeped out onto the road.

"Like I said, you were going to be dead in the next few seconds....you will all pay...."

With another push of the button on his belt, a black motorcycle would speed around the corner of a building before coming to a complete stop beside him. As he got on the motorcycle, he removed his hood and mask revealing a face around the age of it's early 40s, dirty blond hair color and connected mustache and beard clearly kept trimmed, with a hint of grey. He put a black helmet on before speeding off through the city before the police could arrive at the scene. Once they were there, he was long gone, to far to be chased down. The next day during the morning, the morning news would be broadcasting a city wide broadcast about Stronghold's death, and the questioning of who killed the Hero that was thought he could never be harmed. Somewhere, the heroine Gravis, seeing the new's is devastated to know a close friend and partner has been killed. For a man to go after one Hero and kill them is a major warning sign to any hero, with powers or not, that anyone of them can be the next target. What ever this deadly anti-hero is doing, he knows how to take every single one of them down. As the day's went by and word spread over the city about the mystery man no one else knows about expect for the now dead Stronghold, the civilians and other hero's have given this anti-hero, from what they may know the name, The Avenger.
