My review:
This book is the best example for teenage drama. A good mixture of predictability and unpredictability. There are ways you connect to this story like no other maybe cause your at the bottom chain a your school or maybe your hoping your relation will last even when you are in collage but I think you connect to this story because of family as you love your ore than anyone else and are loyal to them no matter what happens, this is something I found connecting about this story.
The writer captured the essence of teenage feelings amazingly on the papers of the story. The hesitation about making first move, shying from attention, trust issues are some of the feeling I loved the way were described as many teenagers feel this way in their high school years. The best part it shows never judge a book by it's cover one of the things that cannot be easily learned. The story is filled with romance but at the same time mystery also plays a big part in the story and given that mystery is my favorite genre I love the story.
The writer couldn't do justice to the number of characters she decided to have. I love the concept that the main leads were not the only ones hogging the attention but I the writer failed to give the attention to others stories the way she did with main leads. And of course there merry band of friends are not the only kids in school there are other people attending the school. I think once they find out about kiera they could have tried to branch out and try and talk to other people. For people who know each other since childhood I think they know way too less about each other. The pairings of characters as couples are the shit for the lack of better word.
About characters, Nathan, the golden boy the guy has far too many issues but he makes through. Taylor, one of the people who has beauty and brains in short nearly impossible to find. Maia, one of the best characters knows how to have fun. Maddox, something different but a loyal friend. Skylar and Mae, two innocent people who lost their way and got mixed up with golden clique. Dixon, another one of my favorite characters he has more depth to him than he lets on and let's not forget his acronyms. Addison, the mystery girl and someone I like as much as maia. Joe, Kevin and Nick the best brothers a girl could have have, protective and at the same time know when to back off. Anneliese someone insecure and jealous. Bryson, he stayed strong after everything happened with him and it takes a lot of courage to turn your life around that way. Keira, someone to whom life has bee quite bad but still able to keep her morals and good heart.
People who love friendship, mystery, romance and teenage drama should definitely try out this story. It is practically made for them.
