Prolougue

One day.
One day can change the entire course of your life in the blink of an eye.

For me that was the day my mother and sister died in an accident. There was no warning, no alarms blaring in my head that something was wrong. One second they were there and the next they weren't.

I didn't even know something was wrong, not until two police officers came knocking at my door. 9:37 am, I remember exactly. Every detail about that encounter will be forever etched into my mind.

Two men, one older and balding, the other with cropped brown hair and a slightly crooked nose.

I was the only one up at that time because my twin brother had stayed up late partying the night before and my dad was at work. On a Saturday morning, a bright cloud free day.

One would never guess that it would turn out to be the worst day of my life. The sun was too bright, the birds too loud. Everything was overwhelming.

I never even got to say goodbye. They would never know, would never know how much I truly cared, how much they completly and utterly wrecked my life.

And Sarah. Sarah was bright and happy and joyful. She was the star of the show, everybody adored her. I wish it was me. Nobody would care if I left. I'm just a nobody, always the girl in the background.

She had everything. Everything going for her, her life was no where near complete. It was all torn away. Just like that.

Now I'm left alone with a father who can't stand to look at my face and a brother torn with grief.

I wish it was me.

so hi! I've had this idea for a long time and I'm finally taking the time to sit down and write it.
