The second Scarlatina

Chapter 3.

After a long week of recovery, Red sprints to his sisters dorm room and bangs on the door excitedly. Instead of Velvet opening the door Coco does, looking annoyed until she notices Red. The two awkwardly stare at each other, Coco being in just her dark brown night gown whilst Red is just in his dark blue pyjama pants. "Uh, Red, what are you doing here?" Coco asks the rabbit faunus in front of her to try and break the awkward silence between the two of them, her gray coloured eyes drifting from Reds emerald eyes down to his shirtless abs causing a light pink hue to form upon her cheeks. "Oh, well, I'm here to see Velvet and let her know that I'm okay." The happy, yet embarrassed faunus boy looks at the brunette in front of him, his eyes wandering towards her cleavage before being interrupted by a slightly angered yell. "Hey! My eyes are up here!" The voice, belonging to Coco, quickly gains his attention making him look back into her grey eyes. "What were you looking at anyway!?" She asks, once again sounding angered by his actions. Red decides to answer the fashionista truthfully, sighing and stepping forward as he does. "I was looking at your boobs Coco, they look lovely in the moonli-" He begins before being interrupted by a loud smack, a red hand print left on Red's cheek. Red winces in pain as he cradles his cheek with his right. "Coco! Why!?" Red raises his voice, looking at her with his wide eyes from the shock of being slapped. The stinging pain runs through his cheek as the blushing mess of a female brunette quickly retreats into her dorm, muffled voices coming from inside as Red, still in pain, looks at the door dumbfounded. After minutes of mumbling the solid oak door opens once more to reveal a certain rabbit faunus, his elder sister; Velvet, who looks like a wild lion ready to pounce upon a gazelle. "How are you feeling!? Are you feeling okay!? Need water, food, cuddles!? Do you need anything!?" The female faunus asks, cutting off Red each times he tries to respond to her many questions. "Velvet!" Red raises his voice, cutting her off from her multiple questions before continuing to speak, his tone softening. "I'm fine, I promise you. Just calm down." He says with a sigh, putting his hand on her shoulder before moving it up to her cheek then to her tall hazel ears giving them a soft rub before giving her a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Now, are you calm?" He asks gaining a quick nod from his older sister along with her signature smile. "Good." He mutters whilst turning around to leave.

"Wait, Red?" Velvet bursts out, stopping him from leaving, her hazel eyes threatening to cry. "Please don't leave, not just yet." Her voice breaks, a large lump clogging her words and ability to speak, placing one hand onto her elbow and looking down embarrassed. "Velvet, do you want to go get something to eat?" His soft voice gets even softer, easing Velvet's nerves and drying her threatening tears. "Go get dressed and meet me at the bullhead bay." He plants a kiss on her forehead before turning around and walking through the hallway out of Velvet's sight. She lets out a short sigh and vanishes into her dorm room.

Meanwhile, a woman in a dark robe with snow white skin with red veins showing throughout her body. "Go, sleep and wait for the opportunity to present itself." Her smooth, yet vindictive voice flows through the creature of pure darkness's ears. "Go, wait inside Mountain Glenn, sleep, gain your strength." She orders before watching the dark creature, covered in bone like armour fly away towards the mountain she ordered the dragon to hide in.
