Regrets

Ch. 16

It was now dinner time and you could feel the tension in the air. It was so quite you could hear a pin drop. Jordan was sitting at the head of the table as usual and instead of being on his right side Marisol sat in the middle with other pack members. The pack can sense something is wrong but didn't dare say anything about it. Out loud at least.

"Momma" looking at Ethan who was sitting on Jordan's left side he was picking at his plate. "Yes love" I said as I take a bite of my steak. "Why is it so quiet?" He whispered not low enough and everyone heard.

"It's nothing to worry about Ethan now eat" Jordan say harshly. "Don't talk to him like that" I growled. "I can talk to him how ever I want to. He's my son"

"Really? I thought he was your cousin " I said getting up from my seat "come on Ethan" leaving the pack house we walk into the woods. Taking off our clothes we shift into our wolf. Running through the forrest brought back old memories of being in the pack.

After 20 minutes of running I smelt a familiar scent. I start growling at the huge black wolf that walk out of the trees. Slowly he carefully walks up to me. Looking in his eyes I could tell his wolf is in control.

Getting closer he try to rub his head against mine but I snapped my jaw at him. With quick reflexes he was able to get out of the way in time. This time he growled at me. Pinning me down for the disrespect. I wiggle and claw trying to get free only to have him to push me down more.

Suddenly we hear a small wine. Ethan. Jordan quickly get off of me and go to Ethan. He tries to make sure Ethan is alright but Ethan growls and runs to me. Snuggling under me. "Mom are you okay. He didn't hurt you right?" Licking him I reassured him that I was fine "Ethan go over to him"

"No he hurt you" bending down so we were eye level I nudge him towards Jordan. "I know, but he's your father you have to respect him. Just give him a chance" with that he slowly walks over to Jordan. I watch as Jordan sniffs him then starts playing with him.

I lay down on the grass watching them. Even though I hate Jordan I won't stop him from bonding with his son. This pains me to say this but ethan is going to need another person to protect him when I'm not around.

Suddenly Ethan jumps on me. "Play with us mom" looking at Jordan he watches us. Watch me. "Sure. Anything for you my little cub. Getting up Ethan jumps off of me and runs in circle then run to Jordan. Smiling I go after him.

We played for a hour until it was close to Ethan bed time. We shifted back and put on our clothes. Ethan ran a head of us inside. "Wait" grabbing my hand Jordan. "Thank you"

"For?" Pulling my hand away from him I try to ignore the shock from the bond. "For staying. I know I wasn't a good mate to you and to think you were by yourself taking care of Ethan.  " he pause for a moment then continue "you are a good mom and I want to apologize for everything bad I've done to you" looking at the ground I turn around and walk inside. My wolf can't take it. She just want her mate yet I know he will never leave Marisol and come back to us. Life is not a fairy tale where in the end you get what you want. She just have to accept that.

We both do.

After making sure Ethan brushed his teeth and bathe I turn to walk to my room accidentally bumping into Marisol. "Sorry" instantly looking at her baby bump.

"It's okay" she starts to walk away but I stop her. "Look I didn't mean to cause any trouble or stress you out. I'm sorry if I ruined yours and Jordan relationship"

"You don't have to apologize. You and Ethan were in trouble and came here. You did nothing wrong. I'm the one who should apologize. I took your mate from you."

"But you didn't know that we were mates until now. If anything it's Jordan fault"

"You're right" suddenly she started to cry "I don't know what to do" awkwardly pulling her in for a hug I rub her back trying to calm her down

"You're going to be okay"

"But what about you?"

"What about me?"

"Are you okay?" Thinking for a moment I said what people always say during moments like this.

"I'm fine"

Hi guys I'm sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I've just finished my sophomore year in college and was too busy to write, plus writers block. Thank you guys for being patient. I hope yiu enjoyed this chapter.
