Chapter Five

Percy watched as Aenwyn set the kettle over the stove.  There wasn't much time even in the summer for Percy to have a moments rest.  It was always hours spent hunched over a book, sometimes wasting away for so long he wouldn't realize weeks have gone bye really. But when he did in fact take a moment of sanity for himself, it was involved either with social gatherings with other intellectuals, or a nice quiet evening at home. Mind him, quiet and home were never really the same thing, what with a house full of eight even with the second eldest sibling gone in Romania.

The window in the flat, that sat just above the cauldron shop, let a warm muggy haze into the room, and the familiar sound of the rustle of feathers could be heard, as the snowy owl sat on its perch.

"So what's it like?" Aenwyn called from the kitchen.

"I'm sorry?" Percy asked unaware of what she meant, standing awkwardly in the lounge, unsure if he was supposed to follow her over into the kitchen.

"Living in the Weasley family?" She said.

"Er well it's quite busy." Percy wondered why she had such a positive reaction to the thought of his family.

"But you must like it right? Having so many siblings?"

He pursed his lips, never have really thinking of his siblings as a particular luxury. "Have you met my siblings?" He asked.

"Oh well yes. I was in Charlie's year. He was a seeker wasn't he? I always cheered on Ravenclaw whenever I could, but I secretly wouldn't mind when Gryffindor won."

"I don't like Quidditch." Percy mused.

Aenwyn walked into the lounge starring at Percy with eyes the size of saucers. "You don't like Quidditch!" She stated in surprise.

Percy rolled his eyes. "No, I don't."

Aenwyn lifted her chin a bit and drew it back down. "Alright—" she confirmed. "But then what do you like?"

"Er—"

As he thought about it she moved around him, and took a seat on one of the sofas.

"I like to read, and play chess—"

"Do you like tea?" She questioned.

He nodded, then watched as she picked up the black cat that was asleep on the couch. He then looked to her navy blue jumper and her denim jeans. Then started noticing things like the stack of books on the coffee table, and astronomy charts, and a rack of potion ingredients.

Percy simply stood, observing with curiosity. "You said you were in Ravenclaw?"

"Mhmm." She hummed.

"But then why?"

"Did I get a Slytherin wand? Have you been wondering since Ollivanders?" She confronted, and Percy felt embarrassed for he had been. "Well I don't exactly know. But perhaps it's because I'm a half-blood from a pureblood Slytherin line. I'm the first in Ravenclaw."

"I'm a pureblood." He said.

"Yes I know."

He suddenly felt alarmed, "oh but we aren't—my family isn't—my apologies I didn't wish to make it sound as though I'm a supremicist."

"Oh I had no judgement to say you were, especially knowing Charlie snogged lots of muggleborns himself." She laughed at this, but Percy just found it embarrassing for his brother to hold such a promiscuous reputation.
