Leona

The walk to my house was long and quiet. Alex held my hand the whole time since I was jumpy with every car that passed. Santiago stood on the side closest to the street so that i was more towards the grass. Even though he didn't know my exact reasons for being scared, all he knew what that I had a fear of cars.

As we enter the house we see Nyma sitting on the couch watching tv. Though she wasn't paying any attention to it since she didn't understand any English.

"You're so lucky you don't have to go to school," Alex states even though Nyma didn't understand. Nyma turns to Santiago waiting for him to translate. "Tienes tanta suerte de no tener que ir a la escuela," He translates.

I sneak past them to Hunter's room. He wasn't home and Nyma was staying in my room so I couldn't exactly lock her out the room. I curl up on his bed trying to sleep and hide away from all the bad memories of the past.

Or at least hoped I could.

"I need to talk to you," I say as I approach Hunter's locker. He takes out some books then closes the locker.

"I-"

The sounds of people whispering around us irritated me. I can hear camera shutters as people take pictures of us. Seriously, can we not live a normal life at school without people acting like paparazzi.

"You forgot about the 'no talking to each other at school' rule," Hunter whispers so no one else can hear.

"I know," I sigh, "another time?"

As I turn around to leave I take out my phone.

"See now was that so bad?"

I give him a sly grin, he rolls his eyes and pushes me lightly so that i didn't fall off the swing I was sitting on.

"Do you know how many detours I had to take to lose this one girl who kept following me?"

"Yikes crazy fangirls."

Hunter sits on one of the not so busted down swings next to me, "What did you want to ask me."

"Are you and Romeo dating?"

Hunter nearly falls out the swing, "Seriously, I skipped just for you to ask me that?!"

"You're being over dramatic, it's a simple question which requires a simple answer. So, yes or no?"

Instead of answering he looked down at the ground with a sigh. Hunter was a simple person in my eyes. But maybe it's because we dated once before, does that even count? It's not like it was meant to be serious, actually it never was serious.

It was just something that my boss forced me to do. Good publicity was what it was. I won't ever admit this to Hunter but I did have some feelings for him, but that soon turned into sadness. I felt so bad that I had to drag him along into my hell just so that my boss wouldn't go bankrupt.

Even my manager felt bad for me, behind closed doors we acted how we act now, never too close, conversations at a distance. But what the cameras saw was us holding hands, going on dates.

Faked shit.

Hunter doesn't like exposing his relationships to the public. I'm not even sure if they even know that Alex is his friend, and with all the rumors about him I just hope he isn't too afraid to at least give Romeo a chance.

"Aw so my plans didn't work?! That's fine there's always a plan B. You can't escape me, Hunter Smith. I'll find a way to get you together."

I try to lighten up the mood which seems to work a bit. It was the least I can do as an apology.

"You're a mess. So annoying," Hunter laughs.

"Forever and always, my Dear."

Who knows maybe one day someone will actually like me but that's such a rarity.
