Y/N's POV:

( Play Song at the top )

After my brother and the others finally stop singing, I decide to call it a night and head to our new apartment. I realised that it's only a short walk down the street from the bar, so I don't call for a carriage.

I begin walking down the street away from the bar, when suddenly an older man grabs my hand and pushes me against the wall of the brick building behind me, and I hit my head slightly off of it.

"Now what's a pretty little thing like you doing walking home all by yourself, huh? You lost miss, you need any help?" He slurs as he talks, and I can smell the stench of alcohol on his breath. I try to push him away, but his grip on my wrists tightens.

"I'm fine, sir, but thank you, now, I'll be going now..." I say, but he wraps his other hand around my neck lightly and slaps my face multiple times with his other one. He starts kissing my neck roughly as I try to push him away, but each time I try, he slaps me once again.

"Please... stop... someone... HELP ME!" I scream, and he tightens his grip on my neck, pulling my dress over my head with his free hand, leaving me in my draws as he continues to kiss me in the middle of the street.

"Stop screaming dear, no ones going to help a slut like you, so just let this happen and it'll be over before you know it." He says, and leans in to kiss my neck again, however, he is pulled off of me and I sink to the ground, coughing.

I look up to see Lafayette punching the drunken man until his hand is drenched in blood, and the other man is lying on the street, unconscious. I feel hot tears streaming down my face as the Frenchman helps me to my feet, hugging me tightly. I shiver slightly at his touch.

Lafayette quickly pulls off his navy jacket and wraps it around my shoulders, hugging me once again as I sob into his chest. I feel safe within his arms, I know it's weird because I've only known him for a few hours, but it just feels right.

"Y/N? Do you want me to walk you home? To make sure that you stay safe?" He asks me, wiping the tears away from the cheeks, and I nod, not speaking a word.

Lafayette takes my hand, as he picks up my dress from the ground. I push my arms into the sleeves of his jacket and do-up the buttons. Lafayette is a lot taller than me, so the jacket is a lot bigger on me than it is on him, but it feels nice, and it smells of his cologne, so I'm not complaining.

He wraps his arm around my shoulders as we walk towards my new home, and he takes my hand in his and kisses it gently. He stops me for only a brief moment, but it's a moment I will never forget for as long as I live.

"Y/N, ma ange, I swear to you, here and now, that I will never let another man hurt you like that or take advantage of you like that ever again, you hear me? I promise you that." He wraps his soft hands around both of me and kisses them gently, almost as if he is sealing that promise.

"Thank you, Lafayette, for saving me back there, I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't..." I break down into tears again, wrapping my arms around the soldier waist.

"Hey... don't think about that ok? Your safe, now, don't worry. And if you ever need to talk to anyone, about any issues you have, big or small, I'm here, you understand?" I nod at him, and decide that I need to get something off my chest that I've held onto for a long time.

I need to tell someone what happened with my late-mother's landlord...
