It has been many days sense the attack of Nightmare Steve, the Nightmare King. After the destruction of the Rainbow Town, with very little resources and not much hope amongst them, Sabre, Lucas and Rainbow Steve were forced into the wild to survive. The attack was dreadful, lava pouring from roofs and fire burning broken boards of wood in exploded ditches. Nothing was alive, not even themselves Rainbow Steve thought.

Sabre was sitting under a tree in the big forest while the rain fell on the lost and afraid three. Lucas was trying his best to climb a tree to grab a fruit he found hanging down above them, but kept coming back down to the wet and muddy ground. And Rainbow Steve, standing in the light of an opening in the tree tops and let the rain soak him. He watched the dark clouds above, unafraid of the flash of lightning and the ruckus of thunder. Rainbow Steve didn't mind the water dripping from his hair and down his face. Life was like this now, and maybe it will always be. Life barely ran through Rainbow Steve's blood, and probably the same with his friends.

Light shone no more with the storm around, and it has been going on now for days. The mud were now deep enough to touch Rainbow Steve's anckles and drench the tips of his pants. The only good thing was that no evil Steve's attacked after that terrible day, but Rainbow Steve was expecting something worse then just rain and evil steves. Something powerful and dangerous, something to change life itself. But when Rainbow Steve thought about it, it just made him want to leave his friends forever, and he did not want that. He pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind to try to forget them and focus on his friends' survival. But he thought more and more about it, it just pops up unexpectedly as if a sickness unwanting to leave.

Sighing, Rainbow Steve closed his eyes and let the water drip coldly down his shirt and pants. What were they going to do? Just sit here in greif and pain and let this all happen? Rainbow Steve didn't want to, but it was probably for the best. Rainbow Steve opened his eyes, lightning crackled down just barely touching a tree next to him. Rainbow Steve didn't mind the closeness of death, it no longer scared him.

The sound of Lucas's rear slamming onto the ground once again forced Rainbow Steve out of thought. He turned and found Lucas, soaking from the rain, sitting on the ground staring up at the fruit in the tree. Rainbow Steve couldn't help but walk over to help him up.

"Life is no longer easy," Lucas said, "It's as if life itself cursed us. But why?"

"It wasn't our fault," Rainbow Steve tried to encourage him, "It was Nightmare Steve, he caused all this. Things should be better soon. We all hope so." Even if he sounded encouraging, Rainbow Steve didn't feel quite as encouraged himself.

"I hope your right, Rainbow Steve," Lucas looked at Rainbow Steve then turned and tried climbing back up the tree.

Rainbow Steve watched as Lucas fell and tried again many times. Time went by slowly, it felt as if it has slown down. Finally, Lucas grabbed the fruit and came plummeting back down. Barely squishing the fruit in his hands, Lucas whooped in excitement.

"I got the fruit," he said, "It's not much, but it will help a bit!"

Rainbow Steve smiled. At least someone's happy.

Sabre just joined Lucas and Rainbow Steve. "It's good enough," he said, "We will share this fruit and get rest, then we'll head out again."

Rainbow Steve's smile faded. Another search to find hope itself, but all the other searches were of no use. They just made it harder on themselves, making their feet feel bruised and swollen as they walked searching for nothing but pain. Rainbow Steve didn't want to go further, but he will. There could be something out there that might help, a bit.

Lucas nodded, and handed Rainbow Steve the fruit. "You can take a bite first," he said, "You need it more then any of us."

Rainbow Steve shook his head. "I can't," he said, "You take it, you are more important then me."

Sabre placed a hand on Rainbow Steve's shoulder. "That's kind of you, Rainbow Steve," he said, "But believe us, you had a special relationship with the town and loved it more then any of us. You should take the fruit, it could make you feel better."

Rainbow Steve loved how his friends cared for him, but he cared for his friends more. If they wanted him to take a bite of the fruit, then he will. He took the fruit in his hands and lifted it to his mouth. He bite into it's tender and soft outside and chewed the piece he bit off. The juices touched his tongue and flavor exploded. It felt good to eat again, but now it was time to let the others eat. He handed the fruit to Sabre and let him have his share, and it was then handed to Lucas and let him have his share. Soon, the all that was left of the fruit was the pit covered in juice.

"That may have not filled us completely," Lucas said, "But it felt good to eat again."

Rainbow Steve chuckles. "Yes, it has."

Life got a bit better after that, but soon enough the storm got worse. The rain was pouring harder and the thunder exploded more often. But then, the lightning become brighter and stronger and larger, crashing into a tree just next to a small wooden tent made from burnt wood they stored from the town. The tree came crashing down, smashing the small tent.

"Our home," Rainbow Steve gasped, "It's destroyed."

"It wasn't much," Sabre signed, "But it sheltered us a bit. Too bad it's gone now."

Rainbow Steve looked at the smashed wood under the large tree. Rainbow Steve and the others built that tent to keep out the rain. Even if drips made their way through cracks in the wood and annoyed him, it was still the only place they lived for a while now. Things really were getting worse, but could it get even more worse? Worse enough to destroy life itself?
