My Name is Captain Matthew Roberts. Commander of the USS Seawolf SSN-21. Recently relations with china have broken down, with the failed hand over of Hong Kong, Taiwan declaring independence internationally and the major economic crash, the whole crew knows something's bigs  going to happen. But no one knows when.
"Morning sir!" Said Jamie, one of my closet friends on board the ship "enjoy shore leave?"
"Could have been better. I prefer to be at sea rather than idling here." I called back
"Don't we all..." he called back.
Walking through the vast extent of the ship, it took roughly 6 minutes to reach the bridge. My second in command, Commander William Johnston, greeted me warmly and said he'd continue on with managing the ship whilst I did a inspection. Walking around the ship I'd occasionally peek over someone's shoulder taking look at the IFF screens; the Radar and sonar rooms were empty apart from a few crew members; just to make sure nothing went wrong. Well in  a few hours this submarine would have a lot more crew on board. 630 to be exact, would be returning to the submarine from their shore leave at Guam (which is a nice place in fact but I prefer the sea).

China officially declares war on Taiwan in turn the United States Declares war on China.
On the bridge the mood was sinister, lots of the senior officers had experienced the Cold War first hand, even though they had never had to fire a shot, being pinged by active sonar, stalked by enemy subs and surface groups and the constant threat of nuclear war had left a profound effect.
In the mess hall I told the news to the crew, and they had a different reaction with some cheers and depressed faces in the crowd.
Back onto the bridge I went up to my NAV officer.
"Alright then, Cast Off, Anchors away."
"Aye Aye sir" and he scuttled of into the dark.
Two Hours at sea and Johnston joined me at the top of the conn tower and said these words that I shall never forget.
"These guys have now idea what their in for do they commander"
"No Captain" he says "war is glorious to all who have no experience of it"
