It was the following day and no one had talked to eachother. The long night of going through the archives sapped most of their energy. Add that ro the fact that all four of the boys had rough nights due to nightmares made conversation even more unlikely. It was lunchtime and all of them were practically dragging themselves into to the hall. It was a rough weekend. There were murmors going on about them as they walked in. The Daily Prophet was sprouting all sorts of conspiracies about the students in the archives. Narcissa was causing a rift in the ministry of Magic forcing people to take sides. Minerva even made headlines when she supported her which was causing people to distrust her as well. This weekend had turned everything upside down. It's amazing what one simple game of never have I ever can lead to.
Draco walked in with Harry. It wasn't one of Harry's better days and he'd given up on pretending he didn't like him. It didn't make sense after the news article anymore and his presence made Harry feel better. He walked over to his own table on instinct and Harry came with him. Draco ignored some of the glares from his housemates. Slytherin was choosing sides so things were ugly back in the dorm. He wasn't expecting to have to be as aggressive as he once was so soon but he wasn't a push over so he hexed a few people and reminded them of this.
He looked up and could see Dean walking in. They smiled at eachother. They were almost like brothers of a sort these days. Once enemies now brought closer by a mutal change. Seamus wasn't to far behind him. Even with their relationship out in the open he still wasn't quite ready. Dean was okay with this. At least both their feelings were finally out in the open. He sat down at the table and Seamus sat down beside him. He looked up at him and blushed a bit. Dean had to use all his strength to not kiss him right then and there. He looked over to the Slytherin table to see Draco tighten his side hug on Harry. Then he kissed his cheek. He had a sudden urge to go over and hit him. Damn show off. That was when Harry removed himself from Dracos arms. Clearly not happy to be part of this little game. Dean smiled and got back to paying attention to Seamus.
"So how did it go last night," He asked Hermione as she sat down.
"Torturous. The amount of history in the archives is insane. The amount of creature archives equally insain. And the amount of clear bias in some accounts of history astronomical."
"So progress was made."
"Naturally," She responded and Dean smiled. He could see that whatever they had stumbled on had her excited.
"There's something new that seems to have popped up though. I can't do much about it yet."
"It's Blaise isn't it."
"Yeah."
"And his relation to us." Dean didn't need a response. He knew it wasn't normal for him to so easily be able to deal with him and Draco. He also sensed that Blaise didn't want to acknowledge this truth for some reason.
"Draco thinks there's something similar to him and Seamus. He thinks they understand eachother on a certain level."
"Like enemies?"
"More like family."
"Interesting."
"He also thinks it explains why he's so wrapped up in Cho. Maybe there's something dormant in her bloodline that he senses." Hermione wrote down a few notes and looked up to see Blaise walkingin with Cho. He shook his head indicating he hadn't told her yet. She nodded in return. She wasn't going to rush him. She had a feeling he wouldn't wait too long anyway.
"You doing okay?"
"Not really. Things got hot in the room last night. Not lose control hot but hot all the same."
