New Beginnings And Old Promises

Isabella's Pov*

"Oh my God! Get up!" my sister yells in my face. I groan and turn over. She rips my warm blankets off of my body. The cold hits me, I curl into a ball.

"Nooooo," I whine. She flips me towards her and smacks me really hard on the side my head. I sit up instantly and hold the side of my head. "That hurt!"

"Y-your face!" she laughs, almost doubling over. I swing my fist from the side and punch her on the side of her head with all of my force. She falls on the ground from impact.

She screams of anger and pain with tears running down her face. She stands up and runs out of my room, yelling, "I'm telling Mom!"

I jump up and run after her, yelling, "Crystal, get back here! I'm sorry! I didn't hit you that hard!" I end up in the kitchen right after she gets there. Mom is sleepily drinking her coffee silently.

"Mom, Isabella hit me! In the head! It hurts!" she screams anyways. I put my hand over top of her mouth.

"She ripped my covers off and then punched me when I was still half asleep. I told everyone before that if I'm half asleep and you mess with me, I'm not responsible for my actions," I remind. Crystal licks my hand and I remove it in disgust.

"Okay cool. Go get ready for school. You have to get to school in a half hour, Izzy. Don't forget you have to bring Crystal to her first class," Mom states, still half asleep. I groan and run back to my room.

Within 10 minutes, I am ready. My hair is brushed and straightened; I'm dressed in a cute crop top and some high waisted skinny jeans with a snapback on; I ate a small plate of pancakes; my teeth are brushed and cleaned. I start to walk out of my room but remember I forgot a lot of things.

I run back to grab my wallet, charged phone and makeup bag. I shove my wallet and makeup bag inside my backpack and make sure my laptop is in there too. I zip everything, stuff my phone in my back-pocket, put my black-rimmed glasses on and run downstairs with my backpack to see that Crystal hasn't even got out of her pajamas.

"What are you doing?! Get dressed! Let's go! I'm not walking you into your first class if you look like that!" I complain.

"Shut up! I'm 15! I can do what I want!" she yells before storming off.

"I'm 16! I'm the older sibling! You're supposed to listen to me!" I yell before turning towards my mother.

"Will you shh? I'm very bedtime," she stumbles. I smile before asking her for her car keys. She points to them on the counter. I walk over to them and pick them up.

"I'm driving to school! Have fun on the bus, alone, Crystal!" I yell. I hear her call me a name but didn't stay to understand which name. I chuckle lightly before saying goodbye to Mom. I walk outside to her car and unlock it.

I get in the car and throw my backpack to the passenger's seat. I see Crystal running out to the car, so I shut and lock all of the doors. I buckle myself in and start the ignition. Crystal bangs on the window, so hard that I'm concerned whether or not it'll break, but I still speed off.

I turn on the radio and sing along to the lyrics before stopping at my best friend's house. I pull in the driveway and park the car. I get out my phone and text him a simple "here". I hear him yelling in the house and then he appears at the doorway. Finally, he jumps in the passenger's seat after setting our bags in the back. I put my phone in my pocket and he shuts his door.

"Buckle up. I have to get there and still put makeup on," I explain and he does so. I push the car into drive and speed off once again.

"Why do you need makeup? You look pretty as ever right now," Alex compliments. I smile with a blush set on my face but shake my head no.
