You run your fingers through your hair, letting out an exasperated sigh. You frustratedly slam the book close, and open your mouth to scream.
You paused and closed your mouth, knowing it wouldn't make any difference. The boys would just get worried anyway.
You stood up and exhaled sharply, your already horrible headache hitting you harder. You grabbed the kettle and another cup, filling it with now cold coffee.
Your eyes closed and you nearly toppled over from exhaustion, but corrected your form and sat back down at the table. "Damnit," you mumbled, looking at the clock which read 3:40.
You grabbed a book you had already read over three times, flipping to the first page. You grabbed you drink, but dropped it from the feeling of hands on your shoulders.
You stuck the chair back, turning around and pointing a pistol straight at Sam's chin. You lowered it, and sighed, "Jeez, it's just you."
Sam's tired eyes softened and he met yours. "You look horrible," He stated. "When's the last time you got some shut eye?"
You tried to think, but just ended up shrugging. Sam shook his head, closing the book and grabbing a handful of your previous coffee cups. He discarded them, wavering you to follow him.
He lead you to your room, sitting down on your bed. You sat beside him with a lengthy sigh. "What's going on with you?" He asked, looking down at you.
"It's just- We gotta find out what this thing is that we're hunting, and you guys are just taking it so lightly that's there's a new creature out there! Dean isn't exactly on his A-Game with Cas missing, and your just doing fine somehow. We just need to find out what this is! I'm not going to let another hunt go wrong because of me," You cried, putting your head down to your knees.
"Hey, hey. Deep breath. Y/N, we have time. Plus, we all make mistakes. That was a really strong vamp, and it was only one time," He explained, rubbing small shapes on your back.
"But Dean is just pressuring me to be the best I can be, and I don't wanna fail him like I did Dad," You exhaled with a choked up voice. You looked up at Sam, eyes watered.
Sam gently wiped away your tears, bringing you to his chest. His head settled upon yours as he hugged you tightly. "You didn't fail Dad, and Dean isn't Dad either. You're doing way better than us at keeping it together, Kid. Don't lose it all now because of some silly case. We're gonna figure it out."
You let out a strangled sigh, releasing the hug. You struggled to keep steady breaths, angered tears still escaping your eyes. You felt weak.
Time passed, Sam gently whispering, "You're okay." He brushed the ends of your hair with his fingers, a small sigh escaping his lips.
He looked down to see that you had fallen asleep, and a small grin formed at the corner of his lips. He shifted your body underneath your bedsheets, moving the hair off your face.
"Goodnight, Y/N," He chuckled quietly, leaving you to a much needed sleep.
