Me and the girls were walking back to our hotel rooms after dinner. We got inside the elevator, just before it closed a few hands stopped it.

In came Asher, Jordan, and Noah.

"Hey," they all said.

"Hi," we said.

"So there's a bonfire tonight," Noah started explaining.

"We do it every summer on the first night and the last night of camp," Asher said. He looked at me and smiled. I started blushing like crazy.

"And we were wondering if you ladies would like to come with us." Jordan said leaning against the wall right next to Raven. He winked and she faked gagged.

"Sure, that'd be fun." Eli said, she started smiling and Noah started smiling too. The elevator dinged and we all got out walking to our rooms.

Asher was walking next to me. Turns out his room is right next to mine.

"So the bonfire starts in 30 minutes, I'll stop by your room to pick you up?" Asher asked.

"Yeah, see you then." I said.

"See you then." He said, smiled, and we walked into our rooms.

Ok Val, don't screw up this chance with a cute boy.

I change into a white tank top flowy blouse, some jean shorts, and Vans. I take out my hair, brush it out, and part it.

After I'm done getting ready I hear a knock at my door. I open it to find Asher at the door smiling. Oh my god his smile.

"Hey, ready?" He asked me.

"Yup." I say. I go out and close the door.

We walk down the hall and get into the elevator. On our way there we made conversation.

"So...Valerie right?" He asked in a sarcastic voice.

"Wow. You already forgot my name?" I said jokingly.

"Nah, I never forget a pretty girls name." He said.

"Aw am I supposed to fall for you now?" I asked laughing.

"I mean I wouldn't mind..." He said raising his eyebrows. I shoved him and walked out of the elevator to the front doors.

He caught back up with me soon enough.

"Dang, your a fast walker." He said approaching me.

"Well I guess, if you run enough walking is just so much easier." I said walking.

"You run?" He asked.

"Believe it or not, not all girls just sit around and watch guys do the hard work." I said. We arrived at the fire before the conversation could continue.

I saw Eli and Noah sitting right beside each other at the fire. I saw her shiver and he pulled her into him cuddling her like a baby. Aw, they're so cute.

Meanwhile I saw Raven and Jordan on the other side of the fire throwing marshmallows at each other. Soon I saw them having an eating contest of who could eat the most smores. Ha, typical Raven. She'll win.

Since everyone was completely surrounding the fire, we went off to the side. We still got a good view of the fire, just not with a bunch of bodies surrounding us.

We sat on the cool grass and looked up at the stars.

"By the way I wasn't saying that guys do all the hard work, but c'mon give us some credit." He said.

"I'll give you credit once you give me credit. How long do you run in baseball practices or games?" I asked.

"I don't know maybe one or two miles? I'm guessing you run the same." He said. I burst out laughing.

"Yeah, I did...in middle school. Try 3 miles a race, maybe 4-5 for practice, and maybe 8-9 miles for long runs. Oh and don't forget we also do strength days." I said. I looked over to see his jaw open.

I reached out my hand and closed it.

"Careful, don't want to catch flies the buddy." I said laughing. He laughed too.

"Sorry for underestimating you, that was kinda a douche bag move." He said scratching his neck.

"Hey, don't worry about it. I've met worse. When your Dad's a coach, you get dragged to a bunch of games with plenty of douche bags. Its just that usually when a guy gets near me or Eli, Raven death glares them." I said laughing.

"Yeah, she is very intimidating." He said. We looked over at her and Jordan to see her with pummeling chocolates at Jordan. We burst out laughing.

"Speaking of your friends, you are kind of short..." He said.

"Hey!" I said and shoved him. He's not wrong though, Eli and Raven are tall. I'm the shortest one. And it doesn't help that all these guys at this camp are really tall.

"What, your no doubt the shortest one here! Your tiny!" He said throwing his hands up.

I smashed his toes with my feet. He suddenly went from laughing to grabbing his toes in pain.

"Dang, your tiny but you sure are feisty." He said.

"Yup, and you better not forget it." I said smirking.

We looked up at the stars. We sat there for a little in comfortable silence. Soon it was getting late and I saw Raven and Jordan sneaking off. I saw Eli and Noah asleep on each other.

"Hey," he said.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Race ya back to the hotel!" He said and jumped up and started sprinting. Oh no, he's got to be the dumbest person alive.

I sting up and start sprinting as well. He's almost at the hotel and there was a chance of him beating me. I crunch a stick on the ground and yell.

"OW! Help!" I screamed. He stopped in his tracks. I fell on the ground faking it. He sprints back to me.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He asks.

"No, but your ego's gonna be when I beat you!" I said. And sprint off shoving him on the ground.

I'm almost there and I hear footsteps behind me. I'm 2 feet away when my feet are lifted up off the ground along with the rest of my body.

Asher is carrying me bride style into the hotel.

"What? That's not fair!" I whined.

"Neither was you faking an injury, do you do that at all your races? Or only when you know someone's gonna beat you?" He asks cockily as he carries me to the elevator.

"No, I was simply strategizing." I said.

"Why would you need to strategies if you were so confident you were gonna win?" He asked.

"Shutup." I said.
