I sighed loudly as I approached my mom and her friend at a table.

"Wow Blue you've grown so much" Mrs Cheryl said as she greeted me with open arms.

I forced a smile on my face , " Mrs.Cheryl how are you?!" I asked as I hugged her tightly.

A few seconds later we let go of each other and took our seats at the table.

"Girl I'm blessed can't complain. Just happy to be back in America" she laughed

"America? Where were you before"

"Your mother didn't tell you? I guess I can keep it real with you . You a big girl now. But after chasing my baby daddy down , I ended up stuck in the UK on some immigration shit. I'm not going to lie , I did fall in love with that place but Sage wanted to move back here so bad . I decided to just come with her . She's grown now and I'm single and responsibility free." She said .

"You remember sage right Blue?" My mother asked.

"Uh a little bit . She's older than me so we never really hung out but we had a few mutual friends." I said.

"That's crazy because I use too to drop you to Cheryl house so y'all could have play dates so what was really going on?" My mom said as she tightened her lips.

Damn I forgot about that . I would let ma drop me to sage house , meanwhile me and Sage had mastermind our on plan. We would tell our parents we going out together but would link with our own friends and do shit we definitely wasn't suppose to be doing. I've never actually hung with sage though. She was one of those street girls and would fight a lot . I was always chilled and just wanted to smoke weed.

"Why you looking like my mom just showed you a baby picture of me." A raspy voice said from above me. I looked to see god herself hovering over me. One of the finest specimen to invade my sight, long , tan and handsome . I'm being extra but that's really how I'm feeling right now. She was fine.

"Sage is that you?" My mother said as she got up from the table.

"In the flesh." Sage said as she embraced my mother with a hug.

"SAGEEEE?!?" I thought to my self . Sage wasn't into girls when we was younger but it's clear she's a lesbian now. And I also don't recall her being this fine .

"Hi" I said as I looked up at her.

"Wassup" she said in a very thick accent that sent waves through my body.

"Y'all go catch up. Me and Cheryl got lots to catch up on" my mother said as she shood us away.

I got up from the table and followed Sage to another empty table.

It was awkward because we were never friends . Plus we grown now , I haven't seen her in years.

"you would think we are twelve the way our parents doing us right now" sage said breaking the silence.

"Yeah . How have you been. How old are you now?" I asked trying to make conversation.

"I've been good. I'm 24. How have you been? I know your nineteen because you always been annoying, angry and a big ass baby." She laughed

I laughed , " That's because you and your messy ass friends would always be trying to fight Zina ass!!" I said back

"Ohh Zina , is she still around? Is she still fine?" She asked with a seductive smirk on her face.

"Yes and she still straight so get over yourself" I joked back.

"Straight don't mean anything. And wasn't nobody trying to fight that girl . She had a big mouth and you know it" she chuckled.

"Crazy thing is Zina probably could take you" I said half joking. Zina did have a big mouth and still do. But I've seen her fight bitches 10x her size and whoop them bad.

"Mm I guess" was all she said before the awkward silence returned.

"So why did you pick to move back now." I asked trying to break the silence again.

"I missed it here. I missed my friends and I missed my old life . My only regret is not moving back earlier" she said in a soft tone.

"Well ain't nothing special about New York Sage . If you like big rats and over priced housing . I guess" I said

"Nah I don't see it like that. Just up the road is where I got my first tattoo and down the block from that is where I got into my first fight and down the street from that is where I fucked my first shorty. This not just New York this my home." She said in a sincere tone.

"I could cry. How poetic." I said sarcastically.

She reverted her attention to the Apple Watch sitting on her wrist.

"You should come over tonight ? If you want . It's my first day back and I'm having a little get together at my new place. You should come ." She said

"Me? The big ass baby you use to ditch and tease as a kid. I'll see what my schedule looking like." I said sarcastically.

She chuckled, " I would love if you would come . I don't have much friends left here like I thought I did." She pleaded

"Girl stop with the sobbing . I'll be there . Can I bring my girlfriend and Zina?" I asked

"Girlfriend . Who done been crazy enough to cuff your crazy ass." She asked excitedly.

I chuckled , " whatever . But her name is Ryan." I said.

Sage face went from excited to concern to uncomfortable.

"Ryan Destiny?" She said and a low tone .

"Yeah why you know her?" I asked confused.

"Yeah I do. We use to run together back in the day before she got locked up . I didn't know she was out ." She said

"So you guys still cool? No beef or anything right?" I asked. Sage body language had changed.

"Oh nah we good I just haven't seen her in hella. I actually miss her . She might actually be pissed at me because I never check on her when she got locked up. Can I give you my number so you could give it to her?" She asked in a sincere tone.

"I guess but you know how Ryan is . If she feel you crossed her than y'all enemies." I said honestly.

"I know that which is why I'm giving you my number to give to her so we can hash things out before my party tonight. I would hate to have to put a bullet in your girlfriend ass tonight." She laughed.

I chuckled , " just give me your phone"I said as I snatched her iPhone out of her hand.
