My Guardian

My guardian creeps across the floorboards.

Tense muscles relax,

I roll towards him.

Pulling back fabric,

adjusting the cotton and feathers.

My guardian settles.

Skin on skin,

hand in hand,

my world depending on my guardian.

My guardian’s depending on me.

Thermal energy transfers,

foundation repairs

better than before.

Because my guardian is with me.

Darkness and calm breathing,

in and out,

my guardian protects me.

I know I am safe

with him guarding me.

Losing consciousness,

eyelids flutter.

Foundation rejuvenating

all in the protection of my guardian.
