III. Justin's Life in the City

(Justin's POV)
(At Angeles, Pampanga)

My dad, James Melton, pick me up on my apartment at the city. To go back at my hometown. He's all excited about me getting back at my hometown. I only go back when there were gathering.

I'm Justine Melton, 24 Years old.

I love playing Basketball. My friends and I, like To Play Street Basketball And to compete on Jett Manuel teams. And it's always end on a tie like a tie. Now, that he joins PBA. And Ginebra Drafted Him.

I applied on Mount Olive College, in Mount Olive, North Carolina. And they accepted me. It's give me a better opportunity to be the best. And I studied, Bachelor of Business Administration. Major in Business Analytics, and played basketball on a full scholarship there. When I got the scholarship, I flied here as soon as possible. I know, leaving my parent was really sad and lonely. But I have to do this of our future. I do my very best to make it this point of my life.

My college days, giving all I got and learn what I got. That's why I earn my spot as a starting five as a guard. It was very successful. We won every game. I was a very tough player in college and was the leader and motor of the team for the last 3 seasons. I was extremely athletic can finish strong at the rim. I shot over 75 percent from the 3-point line in my senior year. I possessed above-average athleticism for a person of his size and was very quick. While I study my last year at Mount Olive College, I played for Malaysia in the ASEAN Basketball League, as an import. And we finished 2nd Place. And I get the season MVP award.

When the ASEAN League is finish I fly back to my home country, the Philippines. I try my luck at the PBA Drafted Pick. And Magnolia Hotshots draft me at 20**.

PWhen I join the draft and give them a show. They noticed me as one of the most athletic players in my draft class, and showcased that athleticism very fast with my teammates. Though measured at just 5-foot-9 in socks, I finished with several rim-rattling slams during practice. My energy was also on display on defense. That's why I drafted.

When I'm at the PBA, I'm popularly known as Quick Melt, professional basketball player for the Magnolia Hotshots. I struggled in my first conference, the 20**-** PBA Philippine Cup, due to injuries on the finger, but bounced back and even won the Best Player of the Game honors. I shocked the whole PBA, by winning the 20** PBA All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest held in the Mall of Asia Arena. I was a high vertical leap, which allows me to jump very high despite of his 5'9" height. I am also a decent outside shooter, who shot at 75% in my first season.

I look outside the car from the window. I see there some changes of the place. But it's nice and cozy, like you want to have stress out. Or Settle in.

"Now that you see, the beautiful of Pampanga, do you still want to go back to the city?" Dad said.

That's my dad, James Melton. Always want me to settle here. Like him and mom. That was I'm thinking as well. I only live in the condo unit in the city. I was thinking, if I found her, resign to the basketball I love. And settle down. Maybe take care of the family business. Something like that.

"Dad, we talk about this. I have a life in the city. As much I want to settle here. But I still can't. I have a contact that I signed there. And I still love playing basketball." I said.

"If that basketball of yours you called a job. It's not a job. A job is a permanent one. I know we take that every time you go back. But can't you see. We are not getting any younger. Maybe someone can change that." Dad said.

His words are something but I'm not going to pay attention on it. I change the topic.

"How's Mom?" I said.

"She's at home. Getting ready. You also need to get ready. Just have a short rest and we are off to go." Dad said. We are getting near at our house.

"For what?" I said.

"We are having lunch with our neighbors." Dad said.

"Not this one again." I said.

"What?" Dad said.

"I'm not getting agreeing to an arranged married. It's not gonna happen." I said.

"Why would I do that for the first place? If you see her, she's Beautiful, Fine lady. I'm sure that you'll come back here. Or even stay here for good." Dad said.

"We'll see about that."  I said.

I look outside. I wish I could find a way to find her. She's the only girl who fitted to be my wife.
