"What are you even talking about Kandi?" I asked after zoning back in. I had been looking about the room at the others dressed in costumes. Although Halloween is my favorite holiday, I hadn't wanted to dress up. So I didn't.
But I feel out of place now, seeing everyone dressed in their costumes. Even Kandi is dressed in a nurses' outfit, her teal hair is piled in a messy bun on the top of her head.
"You do that a lot ya know? You always zone out." She said with a shake of her head. "It's because I have better things to focus on." I said with a slight glare. Kandi and I are like sisters, we argue constantly and are rude to each other but no one could replace either of us.
"Ha ha." She fakes laughter as I scan the room again. My head snaps to my left when an arm lands on my shoulder.
"Hey! Didn't mean to frighten you!" Maci smiled. She was dressed like a simple vampire. Maci's a sweethearted girl, this is her party actually, she's the kinda girl you would expect to see around all the cheerleaders. Being that she is thin, tan and blonde, but she likes hanging around with people like Kandi and I. The outcasts, I suppose that's why she invited us.
"You're fine." I say and offer a kind smile, she nods and walks away.
"Nice wig!" A guy says while walking up to me, I watch Maci walk away and readjust my attention to him. He has a bright, friendly smile on his face. I reach up and touch the purple hair with a smirk, while raising a brow at him I tug at my hair. "It's not a wig. But thanks." I chuckle, common mistake. What girl in her right mind would run around with short, layered, purple hair? Well, I guess that's the problem isn't it? I'm not in my right mind. I look at Kandi and smirk, my best friend looks just as crazy as I do. She has teal (bluish-green hair) that comes to her shoulder blades, ice blue eyes, she's covered in tattoos and piercings, and she's pale.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to offend you or anything." He frowns and looks down.
"No worries. I love your costume by the way..." I gesture to his lime green dress, red tights and combat boots.
He gives a childish chuckle. "Well I guess we're even now, because this isn't a costume. I wear this regularly." My jaw drops, "You're kidding! That's awesome!" I laugh and give him a gentle punch on the arm. "Actually, I wear this for the band. You know of Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids?" I shrug. "Heard of them, how come?" I tilt my head, showing my curiosity. "I'm their bassist." He admits proudly, I can tell I'm going to get along with this guy. He's cheery, goofy really.
"That's fun." I giggle not knowing what else to say.
"Some days, and sorry, I didn't really introduce myself," he sticks his hand out and I take it in my own, "Twiggy Ramirez. You can call me Jeordie White though." He smiles. "I'm Emberlynn Grey." He smiles and I release his hand. "Well, I'll see you around..." He smiles again and walks away.
"Someone has a cruuushhhh." Kandi says in my ear, I reach up and push her face away. "Moron." I laugh at her when she mocks sadness.
