“Alaina! Wait! Please.. just hear me out!”  he called out. But I didn’t stop. I just couldn’t. I have never felt so betrayed ever in my life before.  My legs hurt from all the running, my lungs scream, ‘STOP AND TAKE A BREATH’ but I just couldn’t find it in me to stop. I know if I stop, he will not let me go till I hear him out and that is exactly what I’m running from.

The rain is pouring down, I can hear the thunders echoing. I’m drenched and I know that he is too. Funny how I’m trying to run away from him, but I’m still thinking about how he’ll become sick if he doesn’t stop following me in this ridiculous weather.

“Go away!” I yell, speeding up.

“I’m not going anywhere. I love you!” and that’s when my heart stopped for a second. My feet went numb. My body suddenly jerked forward and I fell on my knees. Tears rapidly falling down my cheeks. I gasp for air as my throat tightens as I swallow a lump to stop me from sobbing. Why me? What have I done to deserve this? Why does he have to make this so complicated?

“Alaina, please. Please just listen to me.” He says kneeling down in front of me, both of his hands caressing my cheeks, his forehead on mine. “I love you” he says again, kissing my forehead.

“Say it again.” I manage to say through my cracking voice.

“I love you.” he says this time kissing my cheeks and pulling me into a hug. “I love you too.” I reply.
