||Chapter 2||
After yet another boring day at school I reach home and make way into the kitchen to find a note on the fridge that says, ‘Microwave and Fridge, you know the drill... love, mommy.’ which brings a smile on my face. Knowing there’s food ready for you, waiting to be masticated and then digested is one of the best feelings ever. I heat the food in the microwave and open the fridge to remove a chilled glass of apple juice. My mum prefers orange juice and I’m just there like, God is judging you. Who even likes orange juice? I don’t know about the rest, but for me drinking orange juice is a sin.
I take out the huge, cheesy, yummy, block of lasagne my mum has left for me and grab the glass of apple juice and make way for my bedroom. Most people say it’s “not good” to eat in a bedroom when you have a dining table. Those people need to shut up because, a bed is a more comfortable place to eat and watch T.V at the same time and I like multitasking.
I was deep into my lasagne and a fresh episode of Big Bang Theory when my peace was disturbed with a loud noise. Well, not just any noise... horribly loud metal rock music. The devil has arrived. I set my plate on my side table and grab my bag of stones while walking towards my little balcony. (yes, I keep a bag of stones with me just in case if a thief decides to rob our house.)
“Jake!” I scream loudly, but my voice is not loud enough to be audible under that loud noise coming from his room. I remove a few stones from the bag and throw one at his window. Then another and another and I keep throwing some more.
“Jake! You stinky little pig!” and this time he opens the window.
“Did you just call me a pig?” he says arching an eyebrow.
“A stinky little pig” I correct him. “Do you mind keeping the voice down?” i ask calmly.
“First of all, you’re the one who stinks and secondly, Regina is going to be here in 10 minutes. So what kind of noises would you rather hear?” he says with a smirk. My eyes go wide as realisation downs upon me. I open my mouth to say something but then quickly shut it again. “Thought so, loser.” He spits and pulls the window shut. Little bubbles of anger start rising inside of me.
“I don’t stink!” I scream. “Keep telling yourself that.” He replies before drawing the curtains of his room. “I hate you!” I mumble under my breath. I get back to my food and T.V and also my mobile because, duh, Alyssa needs to know!
To Aly bby [16:18]- Regina is Jake’s new target I guess...
I get an instant reply from her.
From Aly bby [16:18]- What!?! Not possible. I overheard a few people saying that he has completely dropped the idea of dating anyone right now.
To Aly bby [16:20]- But she’s here and they’re going to be doing a lot of things today, if you know what I mean. *winks*
From Aly bby [16:21]- Four words... Regina. Is. A. Slut. :’)) anyways, I’ve got to help mum get some groceries. Fml. Bye bye :*
To Aly bby [16:22]- byeeee! Have fun :p :*
From Aly bby [16:22]- yeah right....
I chuckle at her response. She’s never been a fan of grocery stores. But as far as I know Jake, it is not possible that he has ‘dropped’ the idea of dating for now. There can be two things.. one, he spread out a word that he’s not looking for a rebound so that the girls think he genuinely likes them (which he never does. Like ever.) or he actually is heartbroken and doesn’t want to date (LOLnah) if he really was heartbroken he wouldn’t be frick fracking with Regina right now. Ew, the thought itself makes me sick to my stomach.
After hours of procrastinating and fangirling over shirtless 1D pictures, I hear an angels voice, “Mommy’s home!”
I run downstairs and hug my mum tightly and give her a small peck on her cheek. “How was your day at work, mum?” I say batting my eyelashes.
My mum knows exactly what I’m doing. She shakes her head and giggles, “Now.. I know you couldn’t care less about my boring day at my boring place of work and no, I’m too tired to make Chicken Alfredo for dinner. You’re going to have to manage with some salad tonight.” Dammit!
“But mommy-“ I start to protest and she gives me the ‘Don’t mess with me right now, I’m tired.’ Look. “Fine!” I sigh.
“So, how was your day at school?” she asks taking out ingredients for the salad.
“Meh.” Is my only response.
“Jake again?” she asks slowly and I nod. “Sweetheart, he’s a nice kid. You just got to give him a chance.” And I look at my mother with disbelief.
“Mum, you did not just say that.” I say almost whispering.
“I did and I’ll say it again because it is true.” She says shrugging. I gasp at her words and leave the kitchen eyes wide and head shaking. ‘Traitor’ is the only word I can think of right now.
