Reader's P. O. V
We advance to the vet's room so V can have a thorough check-up te see if he contains the Parvo Virus (Parvo is a deadly virus that is not treated causes a dog to starve to death, it is contagious) and to analyse the severity of his wounds.
The vet knew about how V came to be at the shelter due to the notes that had been made shortly after he was rescued by me. However, she didn't know what had happened to cause the new wounds. I informed her of the incident and she was shocked as she didn't think the staffie who did this had the nature to attack as he was normally very friendly.
The wounds weren't serious enough to need stitches, they weren't infected and V luckily didn't have the Parvo Virus. This meant that he can now be put up for adoption.
I carried him back to his kennel and place the sign of him to show that he was available for adoption. He kept looking up at me with puppy eyes as of he didn't want me to leave.
"I'm sorry buddy. But I know you will find a forever family soon. You're cute enough to get adopted quickly." I hesitantly say as I turn around and walk away, trying not to cry. I shouldn't have grown too attached to him.
V's P. O. V
I can't do anything because I now feel broken. I thought she was different from the others, but now she seems to already be like everyone else. I just curl up into a ball in the corner and quietly howl.
