Chapter 4

Reas

Reader's P. O. V

Since the puppy had accepted that I could be trusted, I attempted to pick him up in order to properly analyse his injuries and get him cleaned up as he was still dirty from three days ago. He whimpered for a bit when I first picked him up, but once he settled he did the cutest thing ever. He looked like he was swimming in the air! 

I couldn't help but smile and then giggles escaped my mouth. 

"Aww, why do you have to be so adorable and funny at the same time?" I ask whilst trying not to have a laughing fit. I swear I say him smile and wink at me. 

??? P. O. V

I sw these hand gently wrap around me. I whimper from the recent injuries, but the pain slowly goes away. I feel myself getting raised into the air and my instant reaction was to kick my legs back and forth, I don't know why but it happened. Shortly, I hear some giggles coming from the woman. 

"Aww, why do you have to be so adorable and funny at the same time?" I heard the woman chuckle. I turn round to face her and give her a wink and a smile. Her face changed to shock as if she couldn't believe it. 

Reader's P. O. V

We first went to the cleaning station to make sure nothing could cause an infection. After, I place him down, he tried to escape the metal bath. I gently and carefully place the lead around his neck to ensure he can't escape. I turn on the water and make sure it's warm enough, but I could see him cowering away. I try to comfort him and a nickname just spews out of my mouth without thinking. 

"It's alright, V. It won't hurt hurt you, I promise!" 

He seemed to lift his head and calm down as if I found out a name that he likes. 

V stood still and I managed to wash all of the grive and dead fleas out of the vibrant ginger fur with the warm water. I then proceeded to use a flea treatment shampoo and gently rub it in, whilst being careful around his visible injuries. I rinse the shampoo off and gently towel dry him for a bit. I pick him up and go to the drying station and proceed to blow dry him. He starts to yap at the blow dryer at first, but quiets down after getting used to it.
