I slowly opened my eyes to see a bright light shining above my head. It was then that I jolted upward, when my mind finally clicked, and I remembered what happen. The pain in my stomach struck me hard, as I forgot about my injuries. I looked down at my stomach and saw that I had fresh bandages wrapped around me. 'Damn it' I cried in my head as I slowly began to realize that I failed at saving my friends. I could slowly feel the tears run down my face, all I could do was cover my face. It was then when I heard a knock that I removed them from my face. I quickly wiped away the tears that obscured my vision. Turning my head slightly, I saw the most worried face. Josh was standing at the foot of my bed, with a face full of mixed emotions. My heart sank a little from causing him so much stress, an worry. I guess he sensed what I was thinking so he quickly made his way over towards me. He sat down on the edge of the bed, not ever breaking eye contact with me."How are you feeling?" He asked in a sweet voice.
"I-Im fine" I barely managed to say, trying so hard not to breakdown in front of him. It was then when he reached out and took me into a big hug, that I felt as if I was gonna cry.
"It's okay, everything is gonna be okay" he spoke rubbing my back trying to comfort me.
"I-I couldn't save them" I cried out finally breaking down.
"Save who?" He asked confused.
"Micheal!" I said
"Save him from what?" He asked with a concerned tone.
"From the car wreck" I said burying my face into his shirt. I sat and cried into his chest clutching his shirt in my hands. He shifted his arms and pulled me in closer. I felt warm and safe being this close to Josh. Trying my hardest to stay awake, I eventually drifted of to sleep. I awoke out of my slumber, when I felt a slight shift in the bed, I opened my eyes to see Josh leaving the room. Ignoring it, I got out of bed to head to the restroom, but quickly regretted making that choice. A huge surge of pain shot up my body and I nearly fell to the ground. I quickly reached for the bed frame to try and catch myself from falling. 'The pain in my leg is still to strong for me to walk on, but I'm a big boy so I have to endure it. Plus I gotta pee really badly anyway' I thought as I slowly began to stand up straight. Finally getting use to the pain I slowly made my way out of the area I was resting in. The whole room was dark, except for the area I was in. The only light that was coming in, was from the door that was slightly open. I could hear voices on the other side of the door talking. Being the nosy person I am, I slowly crept to the door and quietly leaned up against the wall. I could just barely make out the voices outside the door. 'Is that Josh and Liz talking?' I thought peeking out the crack of the door. I could see them standing not to far away from the door talking.
"I figured out why he left the hospital room in such a hurry" I heard Josh say.
'Are they talking about me?' thought as I continued to eavesdrop.
Outside The Waiting Room...
"Wha? Tell me why?" Liz asked.
"I will but first I need you to do me a favor" Josh asked.
"And what might that be?" She replied with a confused look on her face.
"Take me to the survivor of the car crash. I wanna ask them some questions."Josh said.
'Survivor!' I thought as it echoed in my head.
"Uh okay, i'll take you" She said.
"No you'll take us" I said pushing open the door and limping out.. They quickly turned around looked at me, as I leaned against the nearby wall to catch my breath. Josh quickly ran to my side to help me up.
