After we both put on our seat belts, Dave starts the car. He pulls out of the parking lot and heads for my shared apartment.

"We haven't talked in awhile. Like really talked, do you want to tell me what's been eating at you?" He says. There is a pause. "Well I mean if you don't want to tell me that's perfectly fine, but just know I'm here if you need to talk."

"No that sounds great Dave." I reassure him. I doubt Zen is coming home soon, since he did have a day off yesterday, so what would it hurt? It would be nice to talk to him again.

"Cool beans." He lets out, which throws me into a fit of giggles.

"God you're lame." I say while chuckling, looking over at him. I notice that as I have been caught up in my own affairs, he has been growing his stubble into an almost socially accepting beard. His tan skin is the same as its always been, I do think that I notice more gray hairs in his beard and hair. He's wearing his usual button up top with nice jeans. He always was one who took care in his looks.

"Ah you wound me." He says in mock offense, glancing over to me. I roll my eyes at that.

"Eyes on the road dude." I tease.

"Alright, alright." He says and complies. We sit in silence for a bit, the only noise being the radio which was turned down quite a bit. Until he hits me with a question I was expecting in this conversation.

"So how's the boyfriend?"

Subtle.

"He's great." I keep my answer short to annoy him.

"How's the relationship?" We've played this game before, so he goes along with it. Lets see who breaks first.

"Its great."

"Using protection?" He asks as he glances at me, breaking out in laughter when he sees my blush. Until he notices my silence and sobers up. Looks like I lost this round.

"Wait really?" He inquires.

"Uh I mean usually but there's been sometimes without it." I say mortified that he would even bring this up. I can feel his father-like disapproval from where I'm sitting and it doesn't help. I foreign confidence though.

"Do you have a problem with that?" I let out, hoping I sound more confident than I feel. I really want his approval on my relationship with Zen, but I also don't want small private details like this to give him the wrong idea about him. Dave lets out a sigh.

"No I guess not, you're an adult and can make your own decisions. I just want you to be careful." When he says this, I feel bad that I can't tell him that I'm pregnant, but I feel that it would be better for Zen to learn about it first. I mean I already feel bad enough that Jaehee knows and Zen doesn't, it just doesn't feel right to tell Dave yet.

"Don't worry, everything's going great." I try to reassure Dave.

"Alright, (Y/n). I trust you." He replies.

I am spared the need to answer anymore of his questions when we pull up to my apartment. I move to get out of the car, before I feel Dave's hand lightly gripping my shoulder. I sigh realizing that the talk we've already had wasn't enough I guess. Damn his caring instincts.

"Don't feel so alone (Y/n). You have so many people that love and care for you, me and your boyfriend included. You don't have to deal with whatever it is that was bugging you alone." He comforts. There is some silence as I murmur an I know and a small thank you.

"So what's been going on?" He asks. I find it hard to give him a answer, . This leads to a pause but he lets me think, knowing he'll get an answer.
