Chapter 20: How To Tell if a Boy Likes You

1) What he Says

Take note of the way he talks to you. The way a boy talks to you can say a lot about his feelings for you. What is his tone when he is talking with you. Does he talk in a measured tone that shows that he really cares about what you think and what your saying? Look at eye contact. Does his eyes wander away distractedly? Or, does he look straight into your eyes? If he does, maybe he is afraid of eye contact because he likes you. Maybe he is just shy. Pay attention to if he gets interrupted easily. If someone else comes up, does he get distracted and forget what the whole conversation was even about? If so, maybe what he says to you might not be that important.Listen for what he chooses to say to you. If you notice that he is teasing you a lot, not in a mean bully form, then there is a major sign if a crush. Remember, if he teases with you, it just means he's flirting with you. Flirt Back! Also, if he talks to you about his personal life, such as, family problems, fears, anxieties, and struggles he is facing, there is a wanting for a deeper relationship. Don't push away, be kind and comfort him. If he compliments you a lot, he tells you all the time how smart you are and how great you look, that's another sign. Simply say thank you, smile, and compliment him back every once in a while. Pay attention if he miniseries his boyishness around you. Does he lower his cussing, burping, and his dirty jokes? That is a huge sign that he likes you! Pay attention to the way he talks about other girls. If he is asking advice on how to get his latest crush, he might just see you as a friend and value your opinion. If he is asking how to win a girls heart or what would girls like from a guy, he might be wanting to win your heart over. However, if he is always negative about the girls he dates or saying," I can never find the right girl," maybe he is secretly telling you that your the right girl. If he acts like a player, like if he is telling you about his latest conquest, you should always protect your heart before it's to late to fix it, but he may be trying to see if you get jealous because he wants to know if you like him back. Trying to see what he says about other girls to tell if he likes you is really hard because if misinterpret things, you may embarrass yourself, get in the wrong relationship, or miss the opportunity to be In the right relationship. Notice what he says to you when your apart. Does he sound nervous when he is on the phone with you? Maybe this means he wants to impress you. Are your conversations long with him or does he try to say what he needs and end the call? When you two email, does he try to use correct grammar and crafty words? This may be a sign that he wants to show you how smart and clever he is. Texting... Does he text you to say when and where you guys are meeting or does he text sometimes just to chat? Does he try to be funny or like to send cool emoticons to you? If you see that he is putting extra effort in his texting, maybe he wants to put extra effort in y'all's relationship. On Facebook, does he "like" a lot of your photos? This may be a sign that he is keeping a tab on you.

2) What He Does

Pay attention to body language, it can go from wanting to cuddle or just wanting to hang out. Does he "accidentally" touch you a lot? If you are sitting together and his knee brushes up against yours or if your passing him something and his fingers linger over yours. This is a sign that he probably he wants to touch you more often, like hug or hold hands. Sometimes you might catch him staring and he will smile and look away. He is admiring you. He most likely thinks your cute. Is his body engaged when he is talking to you? Is his whole body turned toward you when talking? If his arms are open and not folded at his side, this is a sign that he is open to whatever you have to say. You can definitely tell if he likes you if he leans closer to talk to you.Notice what he does for you. Does he go out of his way to be a good friend, maybe he wants to be more than that. Is he always doing you favors? This might mean he is leaning more for the boyfriend role. Is he always being thoughtful for you? Does he pay attention to your needs and try to get them for you? If he comforts you when your upset, this could be him being a friend or him liking you. If he cares about you, he will be there to listen to your problems and be there for you when you need. Notice how he acts around other girls. Seeing how he acts around other girls can really tell how he really feels about you. Does he treat every girl the same way that he treats you? If you notice he only wants to hang out with you in big groups or only teases and picks on you, that is a sure sign that he wants to be with you. However, if you see that he teases and hangs out the same with everyone else as much as with you, than maybe he doesn't really want to be with you. He could just be a flirt. If he flaunts his relationship in front of you or shows of his new girlfriends to you, he probably just wants to be in the friend-zone with you. If he is cagey about being with other girls around you, he may already see you as his "girlfriend." See if he goes out of his way to be with you. This is a sure sign that he wants to take it to the next level. If he is constantly asking you to hang out, its a no-brainer. Does he try to sidle up to you when in a large group? Is he always trying to be your class partner or sit close to you in a meeting? Chances are he can't get enough of you. Is he always "claiming" that he is in the area and asking if he can stop by? If he is making excuses to why he wants to hang out with you, Signs lead up to love.

3) Look at how and how often you hang out

Look at the things you do together. Do you guys go on date like activities or a buddy activities. This can tell you a lot about his intentions. Do y'all doing couple-y things together like grocery shopping? This tells you that he may already see you as his girlfriend. Does he hang out with you in a group or solo. This can really show if he sees you more than a friend. If he invites his ten besties to hang out with you two, he might just want to e friends and nothing more. However if he invites his siblings or (yikes) his parents, this could mean that he wants to take it way up there (something really big in his life). Look at how frequently you Guys hang out.
