Y/n absolutely hates flying.

It started out in the moment she step a foot on an airplane when she was visiting her grandparents. She was about 5 years old, and she swore to herself she would never do it again.

The small amount of turbulence had troubled her for life. Every single time she needed to travel somewhere, she would always opt to take a train or go by car.

That is until she had to travel to another damn continent.

"Baby?" she heard her boyfriend, Andrew, calling softly in her ear, making her snap out from her thoughts.

She had been dating Andrew for quite a while now, but more than a boyfriend, he was her safe place and her best friend.

They met each other through her older brother. They used to go to school together, and he had always been y/n's crush, the very first one.

Everything started when Andrew went over to their house one day, when he was done with school and y/n was on her senior year, and stole her her very first kiss. And in that moment she knew that his lips were the ones he wanted to kiss forever.

"Sorry? Did you say anything?" y/n asked, not knowing if Andrew had asked her something previously.

"No, you just seem kinda off. You're not talking much." he stated, an arm going around her middle and pulling her to him. He planted a kiss on the top of her head, taking in the scent of her shampoo.

They were currently waiting in the airport for their flight to Paris. The couple had been planning this trip for a while now, saving money and preparing themselves mentally for it, especially y/n.

She though that she would be fine with Andrew, since she always felt good and safe around him. But now that she was only a few minutes away from being in the air, her worries started coming.

"I'm just...nervous." she said quietly, hugging him closer to her and hiding her face in his chest. He sighed, knowing that she would feel this way no matter what he did.

"I know you are, and it's okay to feel scared. But I can guarantee you there is nothing to worry about, ok? You are with me, I'll keep you safe. Always." he cooed her, trying to make her feel just a little bit less stressed. "Think that we will be seeing the Eiffel Tower...and drink fancy champagne while seeing it lighting up...and we'll visit the Louvre...we'll have so much fun, baby."

She smiled at the thought, she really was happy that this trip was happening.

He put his hands on each side of her face, making her look at him. He smiled down at her, leaning down to kiss her soft lips that he loved so much. She closed her eyes and kissed him back gladly.

"You're going to be okay, I promise." he whispered against her lips, pecking her right after.

A few moments later, they were already in their assigned seats, getting as comfortable as possible and getting ready for their 8 hour flight.

"Okay. If you feel like you really can't handle it, I'll give you one of the prescribed pills, okay?" he asked, putting on a stern face so she knew that he was being serious about the issue that not only was troubling her, but it was doing the same to him.

"Alright." she answered, looking for her phone inside of her backpack. She was trying her best not to burst down in tears and ask her boyfriend to leave the plane, but she knew that there was no need for that.

Soon, they were taking off. With Andrew holding her, rubbing her back soothingly and whispering sweet nothings in her ear, y/n managed to stay as calm as she could while the plane was going up and passing the clouds.

Everything was going okay so far. Andrew kept entertaining her and talking to her so y/n could take her mind off of the situation they were in.

But then the turbulence started.

It was the minimal amount of movement that made her heart speed up and beat harder than usual. Andrew could obviously sense it, and see it. Her eyes were wide open from fear, her hands were starting to shake and her breathing was becoming faster.

She was having an anxiety attack. One of the big ones.

"Hey hey hey baby, look at me." he said almost nervously, taking her face in his bigger hands. He could see the fear in her eyes and he too got scared.

If there was one thing Andrew hated was his girlfriend's anxiety attacks. She had them often, but some of them were so small that there was no physical evidence that it was happening.

"It's just a little bit of turbulence, honey, don't worry. It happens all the time, yeah? It's normal! See? The crew is still on their feet and they are not telling us to buckle up, everything's okay." he tried reassuring her, but her breathing was just getting worse and her eyes were now filled with tears.

He really didn't want to give her such a strong pill, but he also didn't want to see his girlfriend suffering because of the turbulence. He decided that he had to do it.

Grabbing the pills from his bag, he took one and grabbed his water bottle for her to take a sip.

She was shaking so bad that she couldn't even take the bottle in her hand. He put the pill inside her mouth and put the bottle on her lips.

"C'mon, you need to swallow it, my love. It's going to make you feel better." Andrew said softly. He watched carefully as she swallowed the pill and took a few sips from the water bottle. "There we go. Good girl." he cooed softly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

It only took a few minutes for her to calm down completely, her breathing now back to normal. She looked over at him, who was looking at her the whole time. She smiled lazily at him, feeling a little floaty from the medication kicking in.

"Thank you, my love." she whispered, her voice not being able to go any louder than that. Each minute that passed she got sleepier and sleepier.

He smiled at her, kissing her cheek and pulling her to his chest, letting her get comfortable.

Andrew looked over at her, seeing that she was already asleep on his chest. His heart melted at the sight, a wave of relief once he saw her calm state.

He grabbed her blanket that she had packed with her, putting it over her small frame and covering his girlfriend to her neck.

He decided that he would also relax, knowing fully well that now that his girlfriend was peacefully sleeping on him, he would get bored easily.

He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, his head on top of y/n's, and when they both woke up, they were already in the city of love.
