Next Day
Joy POV
Another school day had gone too quickly as Joy walked into her last class of the day, Astrology. She quickly spotted Tae and walked over, taking a seat next to him at their table. Tae glanced up from his phone at the sound of her sitting down. "Hey" he greets. Joy smiled back.
She sat with her head turned away from the window while Taes face was lit up by the sun. He really does have pretty eyes Joy thought to herself. She may have stared a bit too long when Tae raised his eyebrow at her. She shook her head embarrassed. "Sorry I just zone out sometimes."
Tae looked at her intently "it's alright I do that all the time." Once again his intense gaze entranced Joy. For a moment there was nothing but them until Professor Lees voice cut through. Joy quickly broke eye contact and as Professor Lee continued to talk, Joy put her hands on her cheeks in an effort to cool them. She glanced quickly at Tae whose face was expressionless.
Throughout class, Joy had an oddly good time considering the boring subject matter. Tae could be stoic and unanimated at times. But he was nice to be around. They had good conversation, and he was not afraid to share with her despite knowing one another for only a short while. The easiness in which he expressed his emotions was almost childlike. He seemed to have no care in how he appeared, and Joy found that quite endearing.
While working on the lab Joy learned about how Tae lived in a house with his best friends, how much he loved dance and that he was going to college to learn about business. Joy shared her goals and interests too, but left out the more sad aspects of her life.
At the end of class Tae turned to Joy. She looked at him expectantly, but as he opened his mouth to say something Joys phone began ringing. Joy smiled apologetically "one second I'm sorry." Tae nodded to say it was okay.
Joy picked up the phone and saw it was Seulgi who was calling, she quickly put it to her ear. "Hey Seulgi"
"Hey Joy"
Joy frowned, her friends voice sounded off. "Are you okay?"
"Not really, I think I ate something weird. My stomach is killing me. So I'm really sorry but I dont think I can go out with you tonight."
Joys heart dropped "Its all good Seulgs, you just rest and feel better soon okay? Make sure to drink a lot of water."
"Okay I definitely will, I think I'll sleep now but hopefully we'll be back to the clubs soon. See ya babes."
Joy set down her phone with a sigh. While Joy couldnt afford a place to live while paying for college. The stress relief she gets from partying is at times the only thing that holds her together. Not to mention its doing something thats not at her house. She got that sinking feeling she always got knowing she would have to go home now. A slight cough broke her out of her head as she realized Tae was still there.
He once again was looking at her curiously, as if she was a book he was trying to read. "Oh sorry, what was it you wanted to say?" Tae shook his head "no worries, actually I.." he seemed to notice a figure waiting at the door and faltered. Joy turned to see a dark-haired guy looking at Tae expectantly. "Oh hey Jungkook" Tae said. Jungkook glanced between the two and a light smiled played on his lips. "Hey, who's this?" he asked nodding at Joy. Tae glanced at Joy, hesitating to answer Jungkook as if he had just been caught. "Um, this is Joy. She's my lab partner."
"Ahhh, interesting." Jungkook grinned. He bowed to Joy, "Nice to meet you, Joy."
Joy felt like she was missing something but smiled and bowed regardless, "Hi nice to meet you too."
