My Escape [vjoy/taejoy]

Chapter 5

Tae stood with his best friends as he watched Namjoon and Yoongi perform. He smiled and moved his body to the beat of music, they looked so in their element. Tae looked to his side at Hoseok who wore a proud smile on his face. Tae knew Hoseok could be up there too, but his friend had chosen to focus his passion and energy all in dance.

Tae elbowed Hoseok who was next to him to get his attention. He leaned in so that his friend could hear him over the loud music. "So why did Jimin not come out tonight?" he asked.

"The guy we lease the dance studio space from called, said there was a fire in the building so all the tenants should come and take a look." Hoseok replied nonchalantly. 

Taes mouth gaped "What?! is the studio okay?" 

"Jimin talked to Seojoon, you know the guy who leases the space under us, apparently it was just a small kitchen fire on the first floor, like small as in a toaster caught on fire and set off the smoke alarms. The studio is completely fine. But for insurance purposes Jimin had to go." 

Tae breathed a sigh of relief "Jesus you scared me for a second." 

He turned back to watch his friends perform. At Joons part he bobbed his head to the beat and watched in admiration. He was proud to have such talented friends. As he continued vibing he noticed Yoongis frown. Yoongi was looking out into the crowd and then suddenly turned to the boys with an odd expression. He began waving his hands around, he seemed to be trying to signal something.

"Hey look at Yoongi" Tae said to Jin. Jin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "I can't tell what he's trying to say" he said. At that Jin tapped on Jungkook and Hoseok getting them to notice Yoongi as well. All the boys were shaking their heads at Yoongi, trying to convey that they didn't understand while Joon continued to rap.

Yoongi looked back towards the same spot in the crowd and pointed, turning to look back at the boys and gesturing his head to emphasize his point. Tae turned to see what he was pointing at when he locked eyes with a girl.

Joy.

The loud music, dancing bodies and flashing lights all blurred into the background. He looked into her eyes in shock and noticed her pale face and... a bruise? She seemed to be barely holding up her head and blinking her eyes hard. Worried she was about to pass out Tae began forcing his way through the crowd towards her direction.

"V what's going on?" Jin shouts. The boys all followed him, not far behind despite not knowing the purpose. As they went forward every so often he would catch a glimpse of her. Finally Tae reached her and as she was about to collapse Tae caught her just in time.

As he looked down at her pale face his heart beat wildly. He focused in on the bruised cut on her cheek, without thinking he gently wiped the blood causing her to wince. His heart only raced more at seeing the pain she was in. "Joy.." he whispered. Then he watched as her eyes fluttered and then shut. Her body fell limp in his hands.

Panic engulfed him "Joy!" He yelled, shaking her head. The other boys had caught a up to him and looks of surprise and concern flashed on their faces as they took in the scene before them. "Joy?" Jungkook gasped rushing to help Tae hold her up. "Someone call an ambulance!" Jungkook shouted.

"There's no time" Tae muttered. He lifted Joy up into his arms and began trying to push his way through the crowd. The boys were right there helping him, shoving drunk strangers out of the way. Finally they reached the back door, Hoseok swung it open and Jin hopped in the front of the car to start it while Jungkook helped Tae set her in the back.

Hoseok stood breathing heavily near the back entrance of the building "I'm gonna stay and wait for Namjoon and Yoongi to finish there performance. I'll fill them in on everything. We'll meet you guys later." Tae nodded and got into the back of the car with Joy. Jin sped off just as Jungkook hopped into the front.
